Let's say things don't level out for another 2 weeks. What will be the financial impact on you personally. It's a wash for me since some sites crashed and sandboxed ones have moved up.
Everything remained the same for us. If I hadn't seen the posts here, I wouldn't have realized there was an update.
Two weeks wont have much financial impact on me. Maybe a few hundred. Problem is; usually when the rumors are over not everything gets back to normal. Will be weeks restoring it all :/
At the moment, I'm not personally getting hit that hard financially. A lot of my money sites rely more on traffic from MSN/Yahoo rather than G, as many sites are still sandboxed. My sites that have got hit hard are more the ones that I like to show off (you could call them vanity sites I suppose).
I don't want to divulge my actual $$ loss but its about 50% of earnings to the negative. But its taught me to go more in the direction of link exchanges as opposed to relying on Google to bring me traffic. They just can't be trusted.
link exchanges don't bring the same traffic. Believe me. I have ads on about 30-40 related sites (homepage, sitewide, sectional - a good mix) and the traffic they bring is dwarfed by google. Do what you want; but unless your a big company who can put ads on radio, tv or buy banner ads all over the place, SE's are your primary source of traffic.
I went from ~$500/day to ~$200/day. I estimate that it will take Google 30 days to fix this screw-up, which will end up costing me ~$9k in profit.
I feel your pain, I'm going to be losing even more than that if this keeps up where is the damn crying whining icon when you need it! --Edit the only thing helping me is some of my lesser sites have picked up a bit, even though my main fricking traffic/sale producer is almost next to useless at the moment without the almighty traffic flow that google usually provides.
This is actually the first google update ever that both of my major sites took a hit. Its usually one that takes a hit, the other stays steady. This time, both took it.
That's one nasty loss I get a lot of my own business from forums and offline advertising so it's not effecting me much personally but a few of my clients are losing around $40-$60 a day which they blame me for of course lol.
sorry to ask this question but after this update what is the best way to see if some of my site were taken out of the sand box??
Traffic and bussiness down 60%. I can bear the loss for even a month but will the thing comes back to normal (as before) after all this. Strangely my lower sites, really uncared ones have moved up while the one I really care for is really down. R.Anand
I don't think that google cares about what YOU may loose as soon as THEY run ads. Ethically, and from what can be seen on GG SERP I would say that the winners are the text link buyers, big corporations and poorly writen and coded websites - because if it is well coded it looks fishy to GG....who knows it could be the results of SEO BOOOOOOOOOHHHH -
