Hi there I have my own forum with adsense the income is picking up daily. But i would just like to know the potentiol of a forum when it gets HUGE! If you are a forum owner or know of some do you know what there earnings are on a average? I would be intrested to know as then i can see if mine is googd results so far. Thanks Or even how much should this forum be looking too generate from adsense?
well you have a nice placement and I am sure its working well. But how about changing the Adsense Ad Title color to the color you are using on your forum. (just a suggestion anyway.....)
yeah did have them that color. But i seem to be getting more revenue from google with this color. But anyone got any other advice? Thanks KAWEBSPY
Generally, CTR is low - most people report a CTR on forums of between .05 and .1%. As far as how much you can make - well that depends on the topic and how well clicks pay, and your overall traffic.
Is there anyway of improving the earning potentiol like ad layout and color. Secondly like placement of ads on a VB. Any advice on this? Thanks
Welcome on DP! Well, after visiting Your forums I can say that the way You put your Google Ads is very good. I suppose You checked the Google Adsense Tips For Forums, here on DP. AFAIK, putting Ads after first post doesn't seems to perform well (at least it didn't for me). I get far better results with Adsense Ads placed at the bottom of a topic just over the Qiuck reply window, so I think that may be also good solution in your case. The attached link in my post shows also that placing Ads after the last post on each page also performs quite well. How about changing the Ad title color in Adlinks (placed just after 'Register and so on... links') to white and adding a < br > tag before the line with the Post Reply button? Thanks to that, Adlinks Ads probably would be better visible. Edit: Theoretically best performing layouts should be identical with forums CSS structure. Simplicity, in some cases, makes money really ;]
All else aside, I think the trick for a forum to get better CTR would be to get good SERP. If a user is searching for webmaster help and happens along a thread in your forum, they may not be looking to join a forum, they may not find the anwer they're looking for, but they may find a relevant ad that catches their eye - just my opinion. Even something as simple as favorite band game in Google returns over 9 million results - a thread here at Digital Point is #2 ...
Ok i will do that last post bit for sure. I will also maybe try moving the Adlinks also. I will come back here and post the changes. Thanks for this great post and great advice. Anyone else got any?
i have been making around 20 to 25 dollars a day on my forum. 1600 members + about 40 to 60 members on at any given time. for some reason the last week or so has been bad!! getting the same amount of clicks as usual but im only getting around 5 dollars a day... Today has started off pretty good though
That is good average $ for a day. Mine is way behind you. That maybe a good reason I want to start my own forum.
Well i am not able to get good resources from my forums.Every since i placed the ads n my forums i get good amount of impressions but not good amount of good clicks. Although i am working on it to make it better.I have also heard people making thousands of dollars per month from adsense.
I own a fairly popular forum gets one average around 1000+ unique visitors a day, and as with most forums CTR isn't great but my earnings are OK I guess for my topic which is a really poor paying topic - but that is because I made the forums because I was interested in the topic rather than the revenues I could earn - but what I find is that my revenues more often than not are proportional to my ranking in google. I would often fluctuate from being ranked 8 - 14 for my topics major keyword, but when I found myself in the top 10 not only would my traffic increase but I'd also get a quite significant increase in earnings per click. So I would really recommend aiming to cement your forum in the top 10 of your major keywords, and seeing that CTR is always going to be hard to increase on forums, mine sites at around .5% most days, I think it is important to build traffic which means building and retaining members, and with some basic SEO techniques along with some time and patients I think you will find your forums will really come together.
