Sharing a success story...everyone loves a feel good story :-)

Now first all this is not a sales pitch at all but I do want to share my success story with a web travel business. A friend of mine got involved with a web travel business a few months back on a whim and to make a long story short he has increased his income each month significantly. He kept trying to get me involved and just didnt do it as I felt I didnt have time. I finally did purchase my own web based travel booking site (just like travelocity) In only one month I have made more than I did in 4 months of my regular job and I am only still doing this part time. Basically the income increases due to risiduals. Not to bore you with any other details I honestly never thought something like this really can increase your monthly income without a ton of work. It just comes down to promoting and marketing. This is where I thank this site and fellow DPrs for helping me increase my knowledge of marketing and increasing traffic. As a side note my buddy owns a couple of high traffic sites which he promotes his travel site which is very important to increasing exposure. I'm not bragging but just wanted again to thank everyone on here!! Wow awesome, lol i am always looking for making money online, now i just need to save up abit and then buy a website and then promeote the hell out of it and then become like you, and sit back and relax.

 

Really great story. I will 100% vouch for this post and it caught my attention as I also own a site just like this and make a consistent stream of money from it. I actually have the same set up as you do and would say made my money back from the small initial lisense fee in about 2 months. I have not promoted it at all just make the money from sharing it with family. I also love it cause I save a ton on my own travel. Makes me want to spend more time on it now I would have to say that anyone can make some money from this but as with anything it is not without a little work. But most people on this site know a thing or two about promoting sites and generating traffic so I do not think it would be a hard thing to do. Keep us updated. I'm off to market!!!

the other question was how do you make money off the site. The two ways I make money are as follows. Promoting my travel booking site and making commisions off people booking. I started with just my family then started to promote on higher traffic sites. The second way is to sell the sites to other entreprenuers that want to make a good return. Again please see

Sounds like bulldogg32 uses the same company provider as we do but am not going to speak for him/her. I dont want to threadjack this either but the way we monetize is basically by promoting the site and simply people book their travel through it. Works the same as hotwire travelocity...as they all take their prices from the same big database. So prices are the same and sometimes better with promotions. Once someone books on our site for the most part they will keep coming back so residual commisions are made. Basically if you have the skill and knowledge to promote a little you will make a good roi.

bulldogg32, I promote my site through my forum and through other sites I own with decent traffic. Simple as that.
