The best, FREE, way I know of to get quality traffic to your website is by writing and submitting articles. If you go to google.com and just type in "submit articles" without the quotes a huge list will come up. Just write an article regarding the topic of your website. Make sure that you use keywords in the title of the article and throughout the article. So if your website is about disc golf then title the article something like "Disc golf - lower your score". Then write a 250-350 word article and include a link back to your site. It does take effort but at least you will get some targetted traffic out of it.
Yes, but eventually the traffic will die down and you would have to keep on doing this. That's not an easy way to get traffic.
I'd personally not be very good at writing regular articles and keep writing new ones over and over again, but you could always pay someone else to write them for you which could be a good idea. -- Phil
if you dont want to pay for the traffic, it's a good way to use social bookmarking sites to get traffic
do you know of many social bookmarking sites out there? Is digg.com one of those? Thanks for the help

Articles is an excellent way to get free traffic (I made a sale yesterday). You will also find amazing traffic sources in the web 2.0. I made a blog post about it: Web 20 Traffic
Best way to get traffic is the way that works best for you. It's not rocket science. Try everything and stick with what works. My traffic sources? My affiliates, JV's, and paid advertising.
Each site or person has a preferred method.Article submission results depends on the directory submitted to, its PR, how SEs index the site, etc.Social networking sites are gaining popularity and therefore serving as avenues for IM.You can give it a try.
