I have been busting my ass, and all my sites didn't move or they just say NA when I try to check them.

I checked my brothers site, which is empty, no I mean really empty, doesn't even have an index page, and he has a page rank of 3!

    How is that possible?

Here is his site he registered the domain 2 years ago, and has never did anything, I put one folder in there a month ago when I was testing. www.bswilson.com

PR is JUST a NUMBER nothing MORE

Concentrate on more important things like RANKINGS that brings traffic and ofcourse money

Don't base everything off of Google Pagerank. Worry about traffic to your site that is what will make you money.

It seems --your brother's site was last updated on 4th April and most people believe Google took PR snapshot on 2nd April. Thats why he got PR.

what tool did you use to find that link? The tools I used don't show any links. Besides that must have been the previous owner. My brother has owned this for two years, and that is not my brother.

pr and indexed is two different things! google's pr's importance is dropping and i don't think there is much to read in it!
just concentrate in the indexing of more pages and keyword ranking in SERPs, it will work better:)

The thing which matters is a backlink from high pr site.

Well its a strange to me .... that your brother got pr3 without any index page.

    Good for him lol

I don't know how frequently they update Page Ranks.
Why don't you wait till their next evaluation, maybe yours will have a higher PR too?

On the other hand, I've never really been much of a sucker for PR... it seems pretty stupid to me, to be honest. I've seen sites with PR 5 which didn't deserve it, and sites with PR 2 which deserve better ranking

its probably a false pagerank and will go away with the next update.

right but why did it get the update, even if it is false. It should have never got a ranking above 0.

Maybe he should just leave it alone and keep a pr3

I know a site that became PR3 and with 11 backlinks. That's was good and I think google evaluate site for the quality of the links not the quantity of the links. Do you agree with me?

I don't see how this is possible. There is nothing on this domain that is special. Were not talking a bunch of original content, in fact 95 % of it is duplicate icons that are included with millions of apache servers worlwide.

Maybe I should just take all my sites and let them sit empty for 6 months, and then fill them up and enjoy pr3's

Quite possibly your brother bought a expired domain which already has PR or his site got backlinks from high PR websites
High PR websites might not rank well on G.

PR is a crock and unless you are selling advertising on your site don't worry about it. I saw a bunch of my sites drop this last time around but traffic is up so I decided I don't care (that's my line and I'm sticking to it). I do get annoyed that G doesn't update some of my sites like it should and have tried everything but sleeping with Matt Cutts.
