Sites where I didn't notice the Adsense.

I was curious if other members would be interested in sharing sites where they saw Adsense used in such a clever way that they clicked or almost clicked the ad without knowing it was Adsense.

The methods could be through blending or whichever other technique.

I'll begin by posting this one site I came across. Can you find the adsense ad in the list of tutorials on this page? (*Hint, it's not the one at the very top.)

Sagbee, look just above the footer. It's actually in the list of tutorials itself (above the "Select a Page" pagination on that page).

What I think is interesting is how he put an icon image to the left of the 236x60 half banner layout. Up until now, I've only seen people putting images above the ads.

This might be a good strategy to use in the future (as long as the images are generic like the ones used on that site).

from time to time an image beside the ads will attract attention; but this just completes a very clever blend...

Keep in mind that this webmaster is also using javascript or some way to change the image each time the page reloads. That's a good idea also, because it looks like a new tutorial each day you revisit the page.

And people say that images above ads are sneaky, yet this is a perfect example of how blending can be sneakier.

Haha. Nice!
That took me a while to notice it. The links on the left have the same font and size as adlinks. Good one, Dina!

Someone ought to post the CSS code for getting duplicate font and size for adsense ads. I did one page where I tried to mimic it and it seemed that the Verdana font was the closest. I had to mess around with spacing attributes also, because the letters are a certain distance apart.

I think the webmaster might have found a loophole, because Google even suggests the use of "blending" on their site, so I don't think anyone can say it goes against the TOS.

However, this webmaster blended so well, that I believe it causes the user to click a link thinking it's a tutorial rather than an advertisement. As a result, I think this contributes in causing inflation in the Adsense program.

They say that images which give incentive to click are not allowed, yet the icon image this guy/gal is using isn't giving incentive, they are just used to blend the ad better.

I use this technique on my site and CTR is very high. If anyone thinks it may be violating TOS let me know ...G has inspected the content (orange) ads and said they were fine. I added the link block in later and have not gotten them to check it yet. I must admit that with the link block even I have to be carefull what I click
