I recently did a few searches and found they moved to 10 Results. Im not sure if this is site wide, but its definatly interesting. (I havent altered preferences, and tested it on all of my home and office machines - its definatly showing just ten results right now- atleast in Hawaii.)
Just checked and au.yahoo.com is still showing 20 per page. Maybe their programmers have come back from their long holiday and begun working again
damn, and I finally got in the top 20 for yahoo I really wonder what the hell you CAN do to optimize for yahoo though- I'm doing really well in google (fluxing between 2 and 5th place) but for ages I was at 100+ in yahoo. I've heard "optimize for google and wait" but it's been about 8 months..
Get this - I just got 12 results. Did a search for my url and Positions 2 and 3 were something like "If you cant find www.localworldit.com.au here try...". Now its gone, but take my word for it, it was there. They're obviously playing around with it. I know i'll be watching my rankings over the next day or so. Wait its back. Heres results 2 + 3 out of 12 results. You can find www.localworldit.com.au right now at 2020search.com. Opposite - for me -(100+ in google, top in yahoo) although my keywords aren't the most competitive - i think a high keyword density has helped me in yahoo as it can't have all been the links i have/had. dang - i liked yahoo having a top 20 - easier to get on the first page - i don't suppose it moving to ten will send much more traffic to thos sites that are in 1st or 2nd position - probably increase the hits for those around 9 and 10 though. well as far as i can seem .com has gone to ten and.co.uk is still at twenty
WOW! I must not be paying attention to Yahoo at all anymore. I didn't even realize that they had their own blog until tonight, so I certainly didn't realize they had changed the default results to 10 per page.
They've gone to ten alright.. can't believe I missed it. It explains why revenue for a couple of sites just fell off the [expletive] chart. Be nice if it had been announced soemwhere Oh well, spose I'ts about time I blew the dust off my Y notes.. twas nice and cruisy there for a while. Unlike some who think it's a matter of 'Just optimize for G and wait', I actually know better. I'm not looking forward to the next week.. .. and the following month or three.
