Please don't show me any tool that check for fake pr.

I am interested to know about techniques about know a FAKE PR and Real PR.

Techniques currently widely know are checking google cache. But in my opinion its not 100% reliable way to know about reality of PR.

    What are your comments?

    Thank You.

Look at the backlinks of the site. 0 backlinks is a pretty good indicator it's fake ;)

What do you mean? Very good indicator. If you have a PR7 domain for example with very few backlinks, pretty easy to determine if it's fake or not.

I mean its not reliable way ....
Few links may contain PR8 or PR9 links. :)

I wanna show fake PR in RED color in digpagerank... but i need some more reliable way to detect fake PR. :)

Otherwise ppl will get mad at me. :D

why the cache is not reliable ? any example in mind ?

if he redirected it , you would see the fake page and not the real .

for checking cache you need to hit Google's ip...
question is which ip provide all time correct data...

    just for example

    this has forged pr smilies-gifs.com

but this shows everything is ok
    http://www.google.com/search?q=info...s=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

while this shows forged .. i have tested some other forged PR urls on following ip but for them it appeared ok ..
    http://72.14.235.83/search?hl=en&q=info:smilies-gifs.com

    im also not sure.

i tried to use dns query smilies-gifs.com and nothing looks unusual.

You answered your own question... you have to query the dc's that are showing the PR directly to see if it is the correct or a forged PR.

what he meant is that google dc's dont return the same thing in all cases .

sometime it return fake url and sometime the site , as he pointed in his example .

You can check the cached version on multiple DCs, scrap the first line of the cached page (the one with the site URL) and compare to see if they match.

If you see differents URLs depending the DC you hit, the PR is forged.

It's maybe not the most accurate way, but you'll catch 90% of faked PR.

Why would you do something that could be construed as illegal and spam?

Right, but whichever ones are showing the faked PR will show that the PR was hijacked.

For instance, if you check that sites PR on digpagerank, say half show PR0 and half show PR8 (which is about what is showing), when you check the info: query on the dc's that say the site's PR is 8, then you get tulips4rose.com returned... if you check the DC's that say it is PR0 (such as the DC he hit when he went to Google.com) then you get smilies-gifs.com.

In other words, the DC's that are showing PR0 are showing the real PR, so they return the real site.

The DC's are showing PR8 are showing the faked PR, so those DC's return the wrong site.

    Interesting point raised...

But i think PR8 is going to spread in all other DCs soon ... but as i checked with other forged PR sites ... all IPs will not show tulip4rose site ..

For confirmation .. we need to wait few hours or few days .. so that PR can spread all over.
