Google has too much free time and not enough to do apparently. Actually they have a bunch of these custom logos for different days of the year. It's a pretty cool idea actually.

Actually they have several designers working on those logos working full time with them. They produce the variations for most of the "big" days - also local days like national days and the likes.

I like this logo a lot. And yes, today is Earth Day. Google changes "her" logo for a lot of different holidays, as mentioned, and even a lot of uncommon holidays.
