My advice is to build a separate HTML version of your website and optimize that.

Try to use text in the flash but not as part of the flash file.

    yes you can do that
you can combine html with flash in this case it will be more flexible.
html will make it easier for SEOs and Flash will make it look more attractive

combination is better than Flash alone in term of SEOs

Do not use pure flash sites, instead create an html version of your site with a flash on it. :)

Another thing you can do is embed the flash movies to html and link between them, for example instead of a button calling another movie with the loadmovie var, you use the get url to call an html document with the movie in it.

That way, the SE spiders can have more than one html file to crawl through.

Create HTML version of your flash... But, rather make html than flash site 'coz flash is not friendly to SE...

    Flash Sites

Flash sites are notoriously bad at gaining search engine results. Although most search engines can now read the text within swf files, they are not generally applied to the index because of the opportunity for hiding spam text within the file.

The general advice for Flash sites is that title and meta-tags should be included on each page that shows a Flash file. The rest is down to inbound links.

The bast way to circumvent the navigational issues brought about through JavaScript menus is to add static links on the bottom of the page, or elsewhere in the page body, to supplement the dynamic menu links. The inability to read text and links embedded in Flash is best dealt with by creating a replica of the flash site using static HTML, and offering visitors and search engine spiders the option of visiting the HTML or the Flash versions.

If you like flash because of the great design you may do the following. build your website in html and implement only a few flash elements into the site. That works well.

    this is a tough question...

flash sites are nearly impossible to optimize on a flash-only basis, because flash files have no text; they are binary files embedded in the html.

so you have to work on your html, which in turn can be difficult since you don't want to duplicate your content on the same page.

this just goes to show using simple html on your index page is the best solution...with flash on other pages down the site hierarchy.

Or, you could create small flash "pockets" on your index page that blend in adequately with your html.

Flash and SEO are a bit like oil and water. I would also avoid using flash for your menus as some have suggested because then you lose the benefit of those links for SEO and indexing purposes. If SEO is important to you then use flash sparingly as files embedded within the html document and not as the complete site.

    Best wishes...
