It appears another backlink update is underway. I am currently seeing updates on 216.239.51.105: Nice improvement Shawn . You deserve the PR8 now!
Need to keep in mind those 14,000 arent like in the past when it was all PR4 or higher. However, I wouldn't doubt a PR8 is likely..
I reckon they are not showing even half my backlinks. I've gone up to 87 from 75. Most of my backlinks are posts on Digital Point.
arrrrrggggghhhh i'm getting sick of this - i am continually getting more links - yet every backlink update my link count goes down i know it probably isn't effecting anything - but i'd feel a while lot better if google actually acknowledged the fact i was gaining links. i swear i should have well almost 150 links (more if u include internal - plus another hundred if u include forum sigs) and what does google say i have? 19 hmmphf
Same here and the links that are showing seemto be weaker than ever although we do not know the real PR but ..
Mine have dropped aswell but I know for a fact i've had loads more links placed. Especially since the last BL update we've been added to the DMOZ :/
INDEED!!! We are seeing backlinks increase again on many datacenters. You can view the backlink updates on all of the datacenters with this tool... Datacenter Quick Check Caryl
Gone from 185 to over 250. Don't worry if the backlink count goes down. If google has found the page with your link on it (check the cache for that page) then you are receiving credit for the link weather or not google tells the whole world about it.
Hmm.. Looks like one of my sites lost 350+ lnks (9450 to 9100) I'll be interested to see if it actually amounts to anything.
Most backlinks of my sites are forum posts, it will be much harder to check the real powerful BLs of other websites.
Where is the wide wide world of sports is the PR update? And in further grumpiness... backing number increases/decreases bear no relation to the actual number of backing increases/decreases. Google's link: command shows a representative sample of backlinks. OK, that's fine. I can live with that. However, their percentages of links displayed vs. actual links in the database are extremely unstable. There is simply no way to use these statistics as any sort of usable metric. To continue into deeper grumpiness, the Pages In URL numbers also seem to be wacky. I am pretty certain Google has crawled many more than the 623 pages listed for one of my sites. Hmmm... how to create a script to confirm...
