I'm more of an online marketing consultant and use my websites as case studies for potential clients. But if Adsense can be a gauge, the CTR ranges from 0.8% to 24% depending on the ads and websites. I'd say that it highly depends on how clever your design your banner. Btw, please PM me your URL and banner first if interested.
