http://www.google.com/addurl.html What Purpose does the COMMENTS serve to Google - if they will not affect how a page is ranked ( in other words - they are NOT proprietary META TAGS )
in a world of science and facts a pure guess IF that keyword or comment may eventually be a CURRENT event-keyword may be .. the spider is even faster .. may be ? .. its fast anyway - the actual spider comes within minutes to hours and until the result appears for search a day up to 3 max .. sometimes i enter there 1-3 main keywords of thant page or leave it open G is lightening fast anyway compared to the rest of the world may be someone has real knowledge to share - or experience to the actual use of these comments or keywords entered THERE on the addurl.html - page ?
There is another thread running where have discussed the "title" that G shows and the real title on the page and other things http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=256 It is my thought [with some supporting evidence] that these comments are what you see in G but where the real title may be similar but different
Seeing as the sole purpose of the add url facility on Google is to stop people emailing them asking how to get listed, I would say it is smoke and mirrors (this is me being controversial)
I agree with OWG as well ... and Shawn ... The few pages I have added to that form in the past, I've always said "thanks for being such a good search engine" as to hopefully kiss ass and get better rankings couldn't hurt right?
Guess I was always a little too paranoid to use the comments section as I thought that anything that I put in there might be used against me getting listed. ____________ NetFinds
Why is everybody so damn paranoid. Google lives by listing pages not penalizing or rejecting them. This is not some trick exam. The main point of course is that there is no need to ever submit a page to Google. For a page to be listed in Google's index it must have at least one inbound link. If it has one inbound link Google will find it. So don't submit, and get over your paranoia.
