After reading a recent Mella post, I thought it's time to find out how many people would consider themselves to be geeks. For partner you can read husband, wife or whatever.
Hahaha. No, I would not consider myself a Geek. Admittidly geekier than I used to be thanks to Dp, but still no.
I've been living in denial too long, yes I'm a geek. If you are lying in bed at night thinking about project ideas then I'd say you've definitely become one of them.
swmbo gave me a hint once. Someone asked her how she got an email address with her name as the domain. She replied that it came with the geek - pointing at me at the bar. I suppose that means I must be a geek - having worked in the computer industry is 1990 (ish) might help qualifiction aswell. Don't have a beard, but do find sandals comfy
Try this http://www.blogthings.com/howgeekyareyouquiz/ Fashion Geekiness: High Gamer Geekiness: High Academic Geekiness: Low Geekiness in Love: Low Internet Geekiness: Low Movie Geekiness: Low SciFi Geekiness: Low General Geekiness: None Music Geekiness: None It forgot the checkbox that says posting a how X are you quiz on a forum.
Will post a picky of them later - when I find my camera. Pairs ranging from £5 -> £175. Damn site comfier than slippers around the house.
You would pay £175 for a pair of sandals!! My history teacher used to wear sandals and everyone laughed at him. lol
Sandals huh, Pfft. That is part of the geek uniform. But, please tell me you don't wear Sandals AND (white) socks..
Short for computer geek, an individual with a passion for computers, to the exclusion of other normal human interests. Depending on the context, it can be used in either a derogatory or affectionate manner. Basically, geek and nerd are synonymous. An intellectual who is bent on a particular profession; especially within the computer feild. Social interests are deeply rooted in Sci-Fi. The sort of person who would get really excited at the prospect of using a text editor on a 900 megahertz workstation to write out the definitions of technical terms. has always had negative connotations within society at large, where being described as a geek tends to be an insult. The term has recently become less condescending, or even a badge of honor, within particular fields and subcultures; this is particularly evident in the technical disciplines, where the term is now more of a compliment denoting extraordinary skill. This may have in part been caused by the popularity of the Dilbert comic strip, though in the larger society, the geek classification is still a negative one. All copied! lol
Well i dont know... lol Im into soooo many other things appart from computers. Its just when my mates for example sit at home watching TV i prefer to be on the net doing something constructive... I guess im half a geek... or Halfeek
Movie Geekiness: Moderate Music Geekiness: Moderate Academic Geekiness: Low Fashion Geekiness: Low Gamer Geekiness: Low Internet Geekiness: Low Geekiness in Love: None General Geekiness: None SciFi Geekiness: None However I really think this question is unfair... "You wear jeans and sneakers more than 80% of the time"... How does that make me a geek?
sneakers - wtf are they what we call trainers or pumps ? I don't mind people laughing - I get my own back thinking of them travelling to work in the morning
