whats the average or the normal ctr, cpm one should be getting.. i have heard many ppl saying i got high ctr today... can some one explain how it works.
low ctr means low adsense optimization wrong color schemes wrong adsense formats wrong adsense placements missing link unit all above done properly on a large site with mixed content and thousands of global daily visitors a site-average-ctr should be at or near 2 digits!
3 to 7% is avg. Most of them get 2% or less.If u place lot of ads with proper text we may get around 8% to 12%.
sussane many things that you could change 1. first of all i belief that if you are serious about web publishing beyond a hobby, then you should have your own web site and fully optimize ALL ( web site with flat files PLUS blog ) on your own domain i MISS at a glance a direct link to each individual post such as my permalink in my blog at bottom of each article 2. make your regular links blue 3. keep the red adsense color scheme ( I use RED = CC0000 myself MOST successfully - but my default page colors are NON-red but bright colors !! hence instead of blending I use CONTRAST ) and get 2 digits ctr/ecpm in blog and site wide average as well ! 4. place your adsense link unit exactly as is but ON TOP of all page ABOVE all 5. remove the second rectangle down keep only ONE ATF top center below banner 6. CHANGE your rectangle format from 300x250 to 336x280 - in my case studies done the larger rect format when placed ATF pays substantially higher ? 7. remove your vertical link unit left and move your vertical 160x600 UP to top 8. make sure to REMOVE your ad-restriction of currently google_ad_type = "text"; to allow image_text there are HIGH paying image ads and video ads that you EXCLUDE with your google_ad_type = "text"; !!! with all that done and may be your own domain and more creativity you should get much higher in all numbers above all you need TRAFFIC it appears right now there is very limited traffic if i see your alexa data! create more have fun write about what you LOVE MOST then you are most successful some study of my blog articles may help you further God bless
'Average CTR' can never be deterimined across all subjects. Forums have an extremey low CTR generally, while websites can be upto 10% with the correct traffic and optimisation. Each site is different.
I run a forum, meaning CTR is low. I have optimized and optimized some more, and now managed to get my CTR upto between 1 to 1.5%. If by some miracle I could get my CTR above 2%, I could definately live off the earnings comfortably.
fully disagree anything below 5% definitely is without any optimization and only possible with totally wrong layout/placements/formats/color schemes of page and adsense as well as a site withtu SEO at all having too many similar pages showing too many similar ads all over in a well prepared and presented site a site average above 5% certainly is normal and anything less too little efforts in doing things as good as possible there is always room for improvement for almost everybody below 10% ctr/ecpm average! Papworth if you talk about the forum in your sig link there is room for enhancement ! 5 major changes - formats - colors - placements - link units - SEO all precisely done you should be able to substantially improve $ revenue in your forum
Hans, could you drop me a PM.. I would be extremely greatful if you could discuss some ideas with me on optimising. Today is a big day for us, new keys for the recievers (forum topic) means I have already made over $80 today, and if I could optimise more today I could easily reach more than $250 (my highest ever).
Each niche has difrent ctr And each ite can have difrent CTR For exemple entertainment sites have higher ctr but a Webmaster site has low ctr becouse webmasters are ads blind in generaly ....
That's really all there is too it. If your ctr is low for your niche, you should be optimizing (colors, adplacement - that sort of thing).
