Several of us here in the forums met last month at the first So Cal DP Meetup. We will meet again on the last Sunday of this month. Here's the plan: When: 3:00pm Sunday April 29, 2007 Where: Fox Sport Grille, Irvine Spectrum (map) What: A meet up to discuss the issues in the analog world that we normally discuss at DP. Last month we talked about myspace traffic, various shades of white hat SEO, quality content, traditional advertising like getting on the radio for free, arbitrage, and many other things. Who: Any and all DP'ers that want to get together to talk shop. Please reply with interest and check back for late breaking details. Note: If you plan on attending or just want to support the idea of a meet up, please add a link to this thread into your signature.
weren't we going to make it a general webmasters so other forums can join in? and im pretty sure i can make it. i would just like to have a list of who and what each person plans to contribute.
You are right, we ded say it was open to anyone. I removed the DP from the title but didn't remove it from the body of the message. Consider it not DP exclusive. So Cal Meet Up is kind of generic so I was trying to think up a name that would encompass all areas of interest (webmasters, software producers, SEO's, etc). I was thinking of something like Web Entrepeneurs Meet Up Group or WEMUG for short.
There are cheap flights from NoCal. Let us know when your plane arrives and we'll pick you up! If you decide to drive, leave at 9:00am and you should make it on time. You may want want to start a thread and contact some NoCal's directly. If you get two committed to showing up you have a No Cal meet up.
I'll give it a try. Just have to warn my husband and make sure there's nothing going on that I haven't heard about. But I'm pretty sure I can make it this time.
Bring him and the kid(s) along and turn them loose at the Spectrum. It's a huge entertainment complex.
Sure thing, count me in! That's a perfect day for me, right before finals week...but after my week of non-stop-work I'll be there for sure.
with new updates going on ill be there as well. have some new ideas and would like to run them by you guys. i hope we get a big turn out this time .
Last time we had drinks (mostly waters and sodas), appetizers, and a few of us had a meal as we wrapped things up. I recommend coming hungry so we can at least help Fox pay the rent.
I know the owner's son of the restaurant, so I'm not too worried about helping them pay rent sounds good, thanks.
I'll mention that I sorta know a guy who knows the owner's son when I make the reservation. I need to experience the VIP lifestyle.
ok i need to make a list of what each person will be talking about. so can i get a lsit of people that are attending and what field they are experts in? what will we be discussing? we need a gameplan. who will bring a laptop as well? does Fox media have a hot spot where we can go online and review some sites? just looking to get this organized. post this if your attending: name: expertise:
I'd doubt that they know the owner, so it won't make much of a difference...but I'll see if I can get ahold of the owner's son this week

I just called and they said they don't have a wifi that they host, but there might be a signal from somewhere else...so don't depend on there being any Internet access...unless someone has something like a sprint wifi card or a verizon wifi card
