Asmallorange is down a lot lately

    Hi,

I am on a shared server with Asmallorange and they are normally very good but lately I have been getting a lot of down time and every time it is for one hour at a time, (as I type this post my site has now been down for almost 1 hour).
I am not talking about casual 'once a month', but at least once a day.

I have emailed them, many, many time but they told me that it's a shared hosting and things like that happen, (because other users put bad scripts on the server). In other words, 'screw you, that's the way it is'.

Although I agree that it can happen, (a doggy script), but I fail to believe that it really takes an hour to reboot a server.
Also I am amazed that it happens every single day, (and always peak time US time).

Does anybody know if this is acceptable? Is it normal for a shared server?
My site is getting big enough so I am thinking of moving up to VPS but I don't want to do it if asmallorange is having problems.

    Any ideas? Suggestions?

    Thanks

Agreed as mentioned above, I don't know how large your site is and what resources you use at the moment, but perhaps moving to another shared server with a diff. company might be ideal, and if that doesn't help, i would move up to a VPS plan for sure.

Either ask them to move you to a new server, or get a new host. There's way too much competition for you to just sit there and bear it.
