Just submitted my first feed today and it was included within 3 hours. Got 638 products successfully listed The thing is that the terms i am after arent really competitive only 8500 listings. Even with that being the case I cant seem to come up on the first page. I show up on the 4th page and other lower pages. Wondering if anyone knows what to optimize in order to rank better in froogle? Is it keyword density in the product description? Thanks.
I tried froogle for the first time a week ago. nothing. I have no idea did i do something wrong. how would i know if they received my information. I feel sort of helpless.
well you log back into the froogle command center and it will tell you if there are any issues with your feed. you need to check it a few hours after you make your first submission to make sure you formatted the feed properly. I have tracked 5 unique visitors so far lol that sucks I was hoping for a lot more. Still need to figure out how to optimize for froogle. Going to try out some tests with my feed updates and see what happens.
just an update. it seems as though keyword density in the title and description is the key to ranking well in froogle. I have only just conducted a simple test of adding my keyword to the end of every product title and description. [Froogle Feed Test] Sample Size 638 Products Test Format Title format = Title Keyword Description format = Description Keyword The results were impressive as initially by just doing a regular feed without trying to optimize my products showed up on the 4+ page for my main terms but adding my keyword to the end pumped me up to the 1st page. Currently, my products on the 1st page are ranked 4th, 6th & 8th. So it seems that by simply having your keywords in the title and description will get it right to the 1st page depending on how competitive the market is for your types of products. My keyword appears naturally once in the description so in total it appear twice in the description and once in the title. I think that my next test will be to try to see if proximity to beginning of the title or description plays a role in the rankings. Let me know what you think or if you have any other ideas or tips. sorry for another post, just wanted to add that I uploaded my initial feed on the 13th of september and in 7 days it has generated 15 unique visitors so like 2 uniques a day. Also i know that would have cost me about $7.50 for those visitors if it came from ppc like adwords or overture. So free is pretty good in exchange for a few hours to setup my initial feed. not great but I can only seeing it going up from here as I only just conducted the optimization test yesterday heh. So hopefully I will see a jump in visitors from froogle.

ya you have to list each product separately for your whole site in one feed. however, you can have another feed for your site if you also sell alot of books, music or videos separate to your other products. btw after reading up some more on other forums about froogle optimization it seems as though on page optimization for each individual product plays a decent role in your froogle rankings as well. example: title, alt tags, keyword density, keyword relavance, image filenames, h1, h2, bold, page filename, ect. this kind of sucks if you have a lot of products per page instead of having individual product pages (i dont).
