Is google again having issues with site:mysite.com command

I check for one website of mine and google was showing a very funny result to the query,

It says

Results 1 - 10 of about 2 from (sitename withheld) (0.13 seconds)

And the page shows total of 10 results. and next page has 6 more results.

Is anyone else having such issues regarding some domains which have less number of indexed pages. Tracking such thing on domains with lot of pages will not be easy.

 

I also experience that today. I check my blog using that command and it shows Results 1 - 3 of about 2 but I can see 3 pages in the result.

nice fine, but the numbers in the first query are not correct, i guess it is something with the supplemental pages. Maybe google is trying to solve that issue.

 

It says 'about 2'. Google quantifies these results in increments. 16 is closer to 2 than to the next highest increment, so Google says 'about 2'. It's really very simple - and it is not because of an error.

 

i could not get what you are trying to say. how could 16 be closer to 2

 

I was just coming to post about this also I got: Results 1 - 3 of about 0 from mywebsite.com

 

I had this problem also but it is working fine now.
It is showing 15,800 results for site:www.webmastertalk.in

 

This is no problem for me (160 of 30 ) but quite funny. Something going on.

When I checked out the indexed links for e-carcrash.com, it shows 6.
But when I add filter=0 it shows 1-47 out of 8 !

Any idea how exactly google displays the total results ?

it shows only one page.

 

Strange, because http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Ae-carcrash.com&filter=0&num=100 shows 47 - yet out of a total 8 !

 

Yesterday I did a search, and I got 3 out of zero results.
The results were there, even though there were zero of them.
Kinda funny.

 

this is not funny, i guess they are trying to throw supplemental pages out of their index.
