Minstrel have you read it? I'm thinking of buying it and wouldn't mind an unbiased opinion before hand.

I haven't yet read all of it but I do have a copy. It's the best single source I know. The alternative is spending a lot of time reading blogs, newsletters, and forum posts and weeding through all the myths and plain bad advice you'll find in those places.

The SEO-BOOK wont help you if you have been around for a bit and read the forums a lot. Just a little advice to save your money. If you are a new person to the game, then I can recommend it as it has all the basics complied into the right place to start you up good.

Even if you have spent time on SEO forums, the book may still help you sort out the myths from the facts... There is, unfortunately, a lot of crap posted about SEO in forums.

Yes I've read many forums but I think maybe I just want confirmation from one reliable source and he seems to be endorsed by many top people.

    Thanks

The best and latest information will come from forums. I think the book Minstrel mentioned is one of the more highly recommended ones. SitePoint has a Search Engine Optimization toolkit as well, but the price and a large section of the content targets SEO professionals - with things like proposal sheets and other business forms you would need. I think the Aaron Wall book is updated pretty frequently with recent trends, etc. and that's why it's recommended more often than others.

    Yep, Aaron's SEO Book.

Yes, I've read it and it is good at sorting out the crap from the fact. That's what takes the time to learn on the forums and various sites - the myth and half-truths from the good, solid advice.

As a side note, Aaron updates the book when he hears new things or things change.

Once you buy it, you can get the updates for free too. :)
