What article directories you submit on?

and hey... do you use ezine? i don't know for you because ezine got so many rules... hehehe

 

The following three is a must:

eZineArticles.com
GoArticles.com
ArticleCity.com

 

But do you submit to many directories?

 

I usually pay someone to submit my articles...

 

Check this list with 620 free article directories. And check also the software in my signature.

 

I add isnare.com to this list and pay the $1 for them to submit to a bunch of other sites. Pretty much pay and forget though, sometimes it takes a month or so for them to get to your article (although the I put one in a few days ago and they already sent it out )

 

but i think submitting to many directories is spamming? does google consider that?

 

i dont think so caz once i have done a compaign of Article Submission for a site and i really get responce by this (Backlinks) but if you use little amount of your articles for a huge list of article submission sites it really spam... there4 always write a new article for a new article submission site.. am i right buddies...

The whole idea of putting your article to these sites is for others to be able to use it on thier sites. So in affect it is all duplicate content.

However you are more worried about getting the link. It seems that Google counts the link even if it is on a duplicate content page. This makes sence, the page can still have value to the visitor of the site even though Google (or the others) will not want to show it repeatedly in the serps. It's still a vote from the site saying that they like the content you wrote enough to put it on thier site.

It seems though you do not get any link value from the article site itself (please dispute this if you feel otherwise). My reason for feeling this way is that I have many articles on ezine which gives me PR 6-7 pages for my article. The pages my article links to does not seem to be getting that much PR value from that site. I only see an increase when other non-article submission sites pick it up.

Anyone else have a different experience?

 

Is there anything you can do to promote the use of your articles by other sites? What do you do to help people want to copy the articles to their sites?

 

Mostly the quality of the article. The higher the quality the better the chance some one will grab it. Other than that:
1)Strong catch in the title, Get thier attention
2)Lists, People love lists top ten ect
3)start with a good open paragragh (why I should read this)
4)Informative body (make it worth thier time)
5)summary and call to action (don't end weakly, make them think they left with something)

Other than that I"ve added article urls to search site but I don't think that really helped.

I have a few articles that are on over 100 sites (not counting the article directories) I'm sure professional writters do better than this. but 100 links is worth putting an hour or two into writting a good article.

You already have some great lists in the replies already, but ezinearticles have their rules and don't allow affiliate links for example, but they normally get good positions in the search engines, so depending what you are trying to achieve it's normally worth submitting to them.
