My understanding abt showing AS in password protected pages is not worthy as g's mediabot cannot crawl those pages and thus you may not get relevent ads. But I found a pw protected page showing adsense and the ads displayed are relevent to the content on those pages. The reason must be an extra line of code in the AS script: google_kw = "webmaster affiliate"; Code (markup): This is not a common adsense script line AFAIK. Is it only for Premium members? Or otherwise?
Yes this line supplies the keyword for showing relevent ads. But who decides the keyword here? G or the publisher?
Wow, those premium publishers get everything! Only 19 million more impressions and I'll be in the club
This isn't just for premium publishers, but it is by permission only. You would need to contact the AdSense Team to get permission to use it and for it to be turned on for your account. Lots of people have asked for it and been turned down though
Another parameter I've seen over the past year is google_hint. I wonder if it has been replaced by google_kw.
Different They are both in use. There are numerous parameters that can be used - some for betas, some on a permission only basis, and some of premium publishers.
Sounds like regular publishers (like myself) are only seeing the tip of the adsense iceberg. There are lots of adsense "tweaks" that we can't use and don't even know about...
Hi Jenster, Thanks for the info. Can u tell further what is the basic criteria G is looking to allow "google_kw" to any publisher?
It is not something you can contact Google and say "hey, this is a cool thing, can I have it?" It is generally used for specific cases on pages/sites with chronic targeting issues.
lol..basically what I'm asking is there any requirement like min pageloads or anyother on the publisher side. I'm intrested because I have a medical advice forum, which require a log-in and most treads are private to the particular member and only doctors can visit them all to answer if it is relevent to their expertise. It is relatively new site and produce only 100K hits a month. Thanks Jenstar.
Does google give PPs a better clicks to earnings ratio to sweeten their loyalty? Adsense and Adwords pretty much rely on the big sites that keep the clicks moving and the advertisers happy
