Just ran into a list we made a while back ( on another board) and figured it would be handy for the nOOb types that can get lost when we babble on with acronyms... Enjoy - BL = Backlink CSE = Comparison Shopping Engine or Custom Search Engine (Google) CSS = Cascading Style Sheet DC = Data Center DMOZ = Directory - Mozilla HTML = HyperText Markup Language IBL = Inbound Link IPB9 = Internet Business Promoter IR = Indexing and Retrieval LSA = Latent semantic analysis LSI = Latent Semantic Indexing OBL = Outbound Link ODP = Open Direcrory Project, See DMOZ OWBL = One way back link PaIR = Phrase Based Indexing and Retrieval PR = PageRank RI = Regular index RSS = RDF Site Summary, Rich Site Summary, Really Simple Syndication SE = Search Engine SEM = Search Engine Marketing SEO = Search Engine Optimization (Optimisation) SERP = Search Engine Results Page SI = Supplemental Index SSE = Yahoo! Nice list, but I would like actually decrease it a bit (not increase, lol). Without IBP9 and WP/WP4, both are tools and it looks like promotion, however I know that it's not your intention to advertise them in the list. Don't take my post personally, simply I know better tools by all factors so it's a bit unfair I would add PPC = pay per click, RBL = Reciprocal back link
FTP - File Transfer Protocol HTTP - Hyper Text Transfer Protocol CPC - Cost Per Click Bot - for Robot a.k.a Spider CTA - Content Targeted Advertising CTR - Click Through Rate PFI - Pay For Inclusion FFA- Free For All I hope these will be helpful as well.
