AI on Forums

What do people think about using an AI bot on their forum? Do our users find it entertaining or is it left all alone.

I put one in its own forum (Dr. Steve) I can't imagine him roaming the forum asking questions (You can set him to a percentage so he only answers once in a while)

Whats funny is when I was testing him he was forum wide for a few minutes and we happen to get a spammer at that moment. They started arguing whcih was really funny.

Anyway, Does anyone else use AI on their forum?

Yea iv got one on www.thelocalforum.co.uk/forum/index.php It seems like a few people registered just for the bot.

 

Where can you download a bot script?

 

Dr. Steve is cool. We had a nice chat this morning. lol I sure wish there was one for VB. hint hint (anyone want to make a hack)

Lol, it can be pretty stupid sometimes. I uploaded all the "learning packs" I could.

It is supposed to learn the more it answers posts. I am not sure how it does that as I have tried to teach it things.

I would love if there were specific files to teach it subjects. Like adding a medical dictionary to it as its in a Health Forum.

I'm still playing with it though.

I want one for my VB forums.

I wish I had a whole bunch of bots. Like Get-me-beer-bot.

 

Thats the one...It is really easy to add. I only know phpBB though so I don't know how to add it to vB.

It is quite resource heavy as it stores all its "knowledge"

I am probably going to move spam posts into his category rather then delete them.

Either that or I will adapt it and name it FryManBot . I can then set it to answer every post that mentions Viagra and have it respond with "Stupid Spammer" and then relentlessly hound them
(Thats actually fairly easy to do with this Mod)

 

Its probably the ONLY thing that phpBB has that vB doesn't seem to. Although I'm expecting someone to post a link to one any minute now.

A color is a terrible thing to waste. Whatever you say, yfs1.

 

We had one at the BoG for a while. Turned it off. It's funny for about an hour and then it's annoying. It also fills up a database in a hell of a hurry because as long as there's anyone to answer the damn thing just won't shut up.
