I'm surprised that I did'nt find any thread of the topic. Either I'm the only one to notice the change or the PC monitor got too old to display Google SERPs correctly. But has anyone noticed it? Rankings seem to be all different from just a few days ago now. My rankings are all updated and everything is fine for my sites though
Serps are always updating. but what i noticed that updates ( god Thanks at least for me ) was google directory. so maybe that must be the reasons some Serps are having Hudge Moving
I vanished overnight around the 20th of Feb and reappeared a day later only to disappear again a day later. I had a lot of page one rankings on a totally white hat site with good links. My traffic has halved. I could weep... This happened at the beginning of December 2006 but the site came back stronger than ever. I can only hope that the same will happen again.
there are lots of fluctuations happening these days, maybe, google mite come up with updates. Till then enjoy the ride
I dissapeared about 5 days ago and still haven't reappeared as of yet. On each of the previous 3 ocassions in the last 3 months I returned in quickly (no more than 4 days on each ocassion).
site: search for a particular site of mine was pretty much steady over the last month, it has changed significantly overnight.
10 cups of Big Daddy 20 cups of a few older Roleback Algos (Tip:not too old) Let simmer a quarter or two and season with a few pinches of doubt. Throw in a tad of authority from a few authority figures and simmer another quarter. Add a spinkle of my .02 and let it simmer for a few more weeks and wait for 100 new theads at repected forums about PR changes and SERP changes before removing from heat. (Hint:When PR changes dailey for about 1-2 weeks it has reached simmering.) When all the Serps don't make much sense garnish with a 1/2 cup of adwords and add about 10-20 cups of wanabe authority and let simmer a few more weeks. Remove from heat when PR is at right temprature and let it cool to room temparature when then ready to serve. Once smart pricing settles recipe serves about 10,000-50,000 Webmasters.
I expected the number to go down due to changes I made, but Google has not dropped everything yet. That said, the number of pages in the site: search went down more than expected. Is this better or worse? Traffic will tell...
I realised that I've made some sales... even though I did not do any promotions. Looks like the recent SERPs are good for me... for now...
There have definitely been some bigger than normal changes which aren't just bigdaddy and rollbacks. The new patent for identifying spam documents in an information retrieval system as well as the google bomb algo change are having effects on lots of sites. More recently, some big seo people (that don't cry update at a whim) have been reporting a possible Google Algorithm Update/Refresh and many people, including myself, have seen some changes that could fit in to this category.
i noticed big time i just spent over $200 so far buying links for one of my sites its gone from the top 5 to nowhere to be found
Do you guys think its best just to wait it out or is there anything else you can do to bring the rankings back?
I am waiting it out. Sunday I nearly lost it, traffic down over 90%. Monday and Tuesday G sent more traffic than ever, up about 20% from previous high. Now I'm back to about 7%. I'm done checking. This is bad for my health.
My site completely disappeared on Feb. 9., but returned on the 22nd. Many of my rankings are better, but there are still a few keywords bouncing in and out. Hopefully things settle down a bit.
yea. it's not a small ups and downs that occur on a daily basis. I meant the big change in SERPs. Not too sure yet if its because of patent implementing. But that usually is the case for something like this. I will look into it.
The funny thing is, everytime the rankings dissapeared, each time Google refferalls increased quite a bit when they did coe back. This is I think was for two reasons: slightly higher ranking s for some keywords than priortothem dissapearing ad also slightly more pages indexed. Hopefully, the same will happen again.
