Can anyone tell me how to host a sub domain on windows 2003 server ?

    We use the following method

    Make a dns file of

    subdomain.domain.com

Enter it into forward looking dns.

then host the website with the name

    subdomain.domain.com

    in IIS

Is this the way ?? or there is some short cut for doing it.

    Thanks

Actually, it is very easy. Setup the web site as you normally would, select the IP address, etc. Click the Advanced button, and then click Add on the resulting dialog. You have to enter the host header to define the sub-domain, such as download.mystikmedia.com.

On that same dialog, there's a path field.

there is nothing under home directory to specify the default directory for a sub domain of the website.
i gave the ip for subdomain.site.com and hosted it with port 80 and host header subdomain.site.com and i didn't find anywhere to specify the default directory for subdomain.site.com
