I would like to know at what price I should sell this site for. I started it around 11 months back. Its a site dedicated to (Indian) cricketing sensation Mahendra Singh Dhoni. I started it back then when he had just made his international debut. Since then, the site has become a defacto for everything Dhoni. The site is PR 3. Back then when I had started it, I didnt know much about SEO nor link building. Though I did manage to get few big cricket related sites to place a link to this site. Gets listed on the frontpage of google whenever you try searching for anything like, Dhoni, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Dhoni fansite etc. The amount I generate through adsense is around 50 USD a month. The site gets around 150+ unique visitors a day and around 1,000 page views. I get alot of traffic even though its been months since I last updated the site. The reason I would like to sell this site is because most of the members there are pretty angry that I am not updating the site on a regular basis. As I no longer have much time which I can spend on its development, the only best option I have is to sell it off. The site used to average over 300 unique visitors a day when I used to update it on a regular basis.

Its listed on DMOZ, Yahoo and Wikipedia. Here are detailed stats:

Edit: Forgot to add, the discussion forum has 719 register users and 8800 articles. I even have a message board running with over 23220 posts.

Thats what I am asking here. Its a site I own and I have plans of selling it though I do not know how much I should sell it for. Its quite famous and was mentioned in 3 newspaper from India. And in an interview with a friend of MS Dhoni, he mentioned that fans can use this site to get more info about him..

Hi Hemanth. I am sorry if I am confusing you here. This is not an auction. Atleast not yet. I am trying to get an idea from the members here how I should price this site. But really, an offer of 100 USD for a site which generates 50$ a month? I hear most people calculate the value of a site by Monthly earnings * 12. So as per that method, I should be getting atleast 600 to 750 USD. Apart from earnings from adsense, the site can be used for selling sitewide links too. The CTR of this site is very high. Not sure if I can disclose the CTR information here. Dont want to voilate any terms of adsense. Anyways, from the CTR I get, its clear the visitors have a habit of clicking ads. So if they click ads displayed by adsense, they'll most certainly click ads to other sites too.. So if a person sells 10 links for 5 USD each (monthly), he/she will be generating 100 USD a month from the site. So I should be getting a minimum of 1,500 USD. But I want an expert opinion on this...

set 1200$ bin and 600 reserve sounds pretty reasonable to me if site really makes 50$ per month.

Ya, thats the minimum amount I am hoping to get. In the future when I make a final decision on the BIN and reserve and place the site on auction, I'll show interested buyers proof of the statistics and adsense revenue. But I still feel 1.5k is somewhat of an small amount for this site.

 

Yeah since it's listed in Yahoo, Dmoz and wiki but i think it will be removed from dmoz soon..

Because if you sell your site dmoz editors normally remove the listing ...
