Im still undecided.... i might run Yahoo ad's for a couple days to see how it goes. I think i can live with taking my google ads off my site for a couple days or is that against googles TOS?
losing a couple days revenue wont hurt me that bad Yahoo may pay better for me... I definatly want to find out though End the end it will probably be Google on top though
I'd check the site stats and go with the one that gives you the most hits. But then again you have to consider which terms they each rank you for. So all and all I guess your idea to do a test is a great one. Please let us know how it went.
What??? He is talking about Adsense vs. YPN on his site. How is that going to give him more or less traffic??? You must be confused.
Believe me, you will know if it is worth it or not shortly after the official release. The forums will be flooded with posts about it.
Yeah and the Yahoo advertisers will be flipping out because all the people who got kicked out of Adsense are now plying their trade with yahoo.. It is going to be fun fun fun.
Many of those people will hopefully not be that stupid to make the same mistakes again and just play it fair.
Actually.... you can do what I'm doing with Targetfirst right now. Google shows an excrutiating amount of default PSAs so I just have TF set up as the default. Since ALL TargetFirst ads are paid ads (even the ones promoting their site) so I get to see what the clicks are vs what the google ones are without losing any Google revenue. In short... the default option is your friend
So, have you gotten the invitation yet? It is absolutely OK to stop serving AdSense ads anytime you want or, better yet, alternate them with anything else you want (like Yahoo). Just make sure Yahoo and AdSense ads don't show of the same pages at the same time Please post your feedback about Yahoo if you've been invited and decided to do it.
I would base it on what the topic of my sites were. Yahoo users will buy more common consumer items whereas Google users are usually a little more technically inclined according to a recent article I read in a recent Robert Claugh article I think. Might want to search for some demographic information on the two and see what you find works best with who you're trying to reach
"So Yahoo will be like Canada, taking in the dregs and criminals nobody else wants." Sounds more like the US - an open border for anyone willing to work as a landscaper or maid... Canada's immigration policies are actually pretty strict, though a lot of people did go there to escape the war. Others just pretended to have injuries... mostly bad knees. And then there was the Guard. Anyway, I agree that Yahoo will attract the people kicked out of Google. I'll try TargetFirst for my one site that does horribly under Google. Generally I've found Google to be nothing short of amazing on some sites - those where people will pay for relevant words - and useless on others - in particular, rootes-chrysler.co.uk where nobody's buying any of the keywords! I somehow doubt the people of questionable morals at Yahoo will be a sweeter long-term deal. Consider if you will the nature of their interfaces - one filled with popups and animated ads, the other filled with white space at first and information next. Consider the nature of their free e-mail services. Consider... Thanks for the lead on TargetFirst.
I think you mean America and Cuba in the 60s. Of course if you’re looking for a Canada reference then may I suggest the 92-93 Ottawa Senators. They only won 10 games that year. If your just looking for a sports analogy I’d say go for the 76 Buccaneers who went 0-14. Here’s an actual quote: "The coach (John McKay) stopped talking to us after the third game," defensive lineman Pat Toomay told the Columbus Dispatch in 2001. "During the week, he wanted nothing to do with us. I can't blame him, really. We had so many guys get injured that nobody knew who was hurt and who wasn't. By the end of the season we were getting guys out of the Canadian league and off the streets."

After Yahoo dropped my site, I've pulled all my ads from Overture. No use investing in a company that doesn't care about me. Google has proven to be an invaluable, reliable and trustworthy partner. I don't trust Yahoo as far as I can throw them. So I won't be trying their program...=)
I would be interested to hear everyone's results after the switch. I can't imagine yahoo having enough competitive advertisers yet, as well as not being able to fill certain subjects. I'm not really to make the switch unless I hear something really good from you guys.
