Just a day after The social network billionaire "Mark Zuckerberg" got married, Microsoft ( its partner) launched its own social networking website --> So.cl After the early sneak peak into the website i didn't find it appealing! Like i didn't had any reason to stay on it. Although i was fascinated by its login page which promise me features like- Share Your Search Discover New Interest Start a Video party The only thing i liked about the website was their design! What's your experience with so.cl?
I think it would be good sometime. As microsoft is a huge company. Social networking with So.Cl would be fun I think.
I would love to see someone topple Facebook, but I just don't think this website will be able to do it. Greg
I have tried to create a profile using Facebook ID and they put me on waiting list. Will I be able to get So.cl ID?
Wait for a day and you will get the invitation from them. It is for sure that they have made it available for public user.
I don't understand why all these new social networking sites are starting off invite only...seems to me like they are just limiting themselves by doing this.
They don't want to over flood there site as most of the sites are still in testing mode but at the same time they want to test there site in a live environment.
Agreed with Blend, invite base user sign up helps them manage and keep control of their website. It's a trend now a days which is good for users as well as for website owners.
I see marketing potential there. I love getting to new social networks fast before it becomes too saturated as you can market a lot easier when there isn't any competition and you've got a tight niche market.
I haven't tried it. I only found out about it. Can anyone who used it share their experience. I'm thinking it could be a great marketing opportunity.
As Microsoft makes clear, So.cl is not designed to be a replacement for Facebook or Twitter, instead it is a supplement with the niche mission of serving student-collaborative learning.
