    Hi There,

is it possible to get a link from .gov or .edu sites, i mean i have seen many seo experts keep stating that "we will build authority links from .gov and .edu domains"

i don't understand how is it possible.. now a days it's hard to get a links from these websites ... any idea??

I know some guys uses blog commenting strategies for backlink like this given URL: http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/lydondev/2003/10/31/curveball-and-slider-jim-behrle-on-robert-lowell/ "nofollow blog commenting", however it comes under the spamming hood, coz there are too many obls in every posts out there....

It is not necessary to get backlinks from .edu or .gov links. If someone is offering this type of link building, either the site would be fake or they are fooling you. Better to create backlinks from same niche so that you can get better SERP.

Make sure you are building links from relevant sites whatever the extension may be i.e. .gov..edu,.net,.com. One of my sites recently got penalized by Panda as Google thinks some the links are unnatural although I do not think the same.Anyway, be careful. :)

There are providers out there who can provide both .EDU and .GOV links through various methods- like ourselves for example. :) (See Signature)

Yes you can get backlinks from gov and edu pages. These pages may be wikis, blogs of forums.By wikis there are some guys in the forum that service gov and edu wikis. They write (or you write) articles and they publish there. Also, you can get backlink via blog commenting but please be aware and run away from ''link farms'' which like the example you showed us.There are thousands and thousands edu blogs, you can start to search on google '' your keyword inurl:.edu'' for finding some backlinks.after making some analyses you will find and learn great pages to get backlinks.Lastly, forums are great places to get backlinks. The systems are the same as DP,you should just add value to the community to get sustanable backlinks.

I heard the .gov .edu has no advantage, but only the strength of the domain.

They do seem to be the cleanest domains, with truly editorial votes, with powerful juice, so getting some will help. They real quality stuff is VERY expensive though.
