Since Y is starting the publisher network, we have another big dog in the ring. I had an idea, and hoping it currently exists. Remember the programed phones that chose the best long distance service, by price, automatically when you picked up the phone to make a call? Well I notice EPC dropped for AS today across the board, and rather than changing all the code to the Y's PN and back again on a day to day basis, wondered if there was a way to show ads on your sites based on the best going rates for that day. Anything like this, or in the works, or am I day-dreaming? The idea I thought was to split the ads half and half. So if AS epc drop, only half my revenue dropped for the day. Maybe with both ad networks, I can stabilize the day to day revenue. Any ideas? tom
The program, or my ramblings about altenating ad systems on the same page? I lost track of my own babbling. tom
If it weren't for the image verification, you could run a morning cron-job to spam adwords and yahoo's advertiser page, retrieve the bids for your Keywords, and use includes on your site to choose the right ads.
Wow, nice! I'm thinking at the moment, when I sign up with Y, alternating G and Y ads maybe something like 50/50 and tweaking as I see ctr(might be very similar since advertisers use both) and epc move. I find AS fluctuates and with Y it might bring stability. tom
It will be a good idea to alternate the ads regardless of their performance: on most sites when a visitor clicks on internal links while reading about a particular subject, most of the time he sees the same ads ('cause they respond to the same keywords). I think it would be beneficial to show them different ads as they click their way through the subject links on your site so they don't develop "text ad blindness" similar to well known "banner blindness".
