Suddenly No Google PR

Let me start off by apologizing for violating the "not pagerank for a site" rule above, but I just didn't see where else to stick this. Please move if necessary.

Suddenly my pagerank dropped to 0 on Google and running a "link:" for my site retrieves no results. However, when I login to my webmasters account i see 7,000+ links for my site.

Am I just being affected by some temporary Google server issue? how long do these normally last?

have you tired a pagerank tool that checks PR across multiple datacenters?

Had this with one of my sites too a few weeks ago, probably caused by a massive duplicate content problem. Basically the client had crosslinked two almost identical sites on two different urls (one was an old test server on an IP address). They had a shopping basket link on almost every page that generated a lot of duplicate content and they weren't redirecting the non www pages.

Same story as you, the home page lost PR and backlinks it's not cached or crawled (the site on the IP address still has PR4!). The inner pages still rank though. The thing is the site's been like this for years; it's one of the reasons we couldn't get them to fix it. I think in the middle of Jan, Google just tweaked the duplicate filter a little higher and the the homepage was just filtered out.

If anyone's interested the url is capita-ld.co.uk

Mine dropped to 0 too and the toolbar doesn't show. Although DC shows PR4.
www.dirsurfer.com iwebtool even predicts it at 6.

im not sure about duplicate content. if you view the site there isn't any (as far as I am aware)

you and I seem to be in the same situation. Check out your page rank. 5 servers show you at 4 (nearly identical to me).

Make sure you used correct subdomain for the "link:" query! Google gives different results for www. and withour www. queries.

It went back and it was temporary. :) I guess it was some kind of Google DC querry. I don't know. I'm confused too. But glad it came back. :)
