I have decided to release a sneak preview from my new book - "The Only SEO Book You Need"; which is a step by step guide on ranking highly in search engines covering everything from how to onsite optimise a page to building lots of backlinks.

It's being released 12th of February, so keep your eyes peeled in the Buy, Sell, Trade section for it (and remember to have $10 on hand to buy your copy ;) )

Sure, would you like me to design your site aswell?

If you can't fork over $10 for a book which has been in production for weeks, been reviewed and given feedback from over 10 both experts and newbies, and has been refined to be extremely easy to follow so that you can DIY and save hundred on paying professionals - all you have to do is hit the back button.

Research, knowledge I have (from reading resources back when I was learning), from other SEO books I read (but they draggeddddddddd on with lots of useless blabble which is why I wrote mine)

It covers all the areas from picking keywords, to on-site optimisation and then to link building - everything you need to know. It has green boxes (examples) and blue boxes (links to further resources and tools) for nearly every subheading.

The book is made to be step by step so that people with no SEO knowledge can rank their sites high without paying a professional hundreds to do so (which really is not required, you CAN do it yourself if you learn and spend time doing what the book explains)

Just a thought: a nice idea might be to include examples of websites you have search engine optimised and got very well ranked in Google to prove to other people it can be done by following what the book says.

It is - rapidshare forums is my new site which is used (as you can see) in the examples throughout the book.

These are the terms it ranks for:
1. rapidshare forum #4
2. rapidshare #35
3. rapidshare forums #1
4. forum rapidshare #7
5. rapidshare premium forum #5
6. "rapidshare forum" #4
7. rapidshare premium #57
8. rapidshare troubleshooting #2
9. rapidshare join premium #6
10. over it rapidshare #3
11. rapid share forum #4
12. rapidshare contact #6
13. rapidshare forum largest #6

All with just an hour of on-site SEO, about an hour of link building and $50 spent on directory submissions (it's boring as all hell I hate to do them myself!). If I applied everything in my book and spent more time link building I could easily improve those rankings.

By the way, the site is just 1 month old and it's already ranking highly for so many terms!

Is it a generic guide or does it specifically comment on how best to rank for the different engines?

It is generic, however it is geared towards Google mainly due to my own preference of search engines.

So it works for all, but it mentions in more detail the stuff Google likes... if that makes sense? Like it explains PageRank, TrustRank etc.

EDIT: I have released my book a bit early! For 12 hours only there is a special price, it's all in this thread: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=2300469

Well, google will punish you for only having keywords in your headings - but go right ahead and buy the book if you don't believe me. It's called 'over optimization'.

This might be the case when excessive page manipulation has been conducted. Simply having your headings relate to your site content… come on!

if your page looks like this:

Myspace Layouts Myspace Layouts Myspace Layouts

Myspace Layouts Myspace Layouts Myspace Layouts

Myspace Layouts Myspace Layouts Myspace Layouts

Come get free myspace layouts, we have the best myspace layouts on the internet, girly myspace layouts, sport myspace layouts...

Then yes, that is complete and utter spamming of the page. Putting your keywords in is not going to punish you (it's calling a heading, if the heading is relevant to the text, google would punish you why?)

All of those keywords, except for "rapidshare", are non-competitive and easy to rank for. Unless you are well known in the industry, you need to provide solid examples of your expertise (since that's what you're selling).

Do you have any other examples of SEO efforts?
