What are the legal issues regarding registering and using urls that are misspellings or omitting the "." between www ?
The issues are that you will have an aggressive legal department of a 58 billion dollar company coming after you. Go work on something else that does not infringe on other's trademarks.
Very bad idea. First, it sounds like you're just trying to take advantage of Ebay and second, even if you successfully do that, Ebay will just come and grab your site for free. Don't register it ...
no no no...not the point...just wondering in general what the legal issues are with registering similar names.
Same difference whether its ebay, yahoo, google. If your looking for typo error domains then be very careful about doing anything with the domain. You are at the end of the day targeting a copyrighted name/business and IMO that's just not worth the risks/effort in most cases.
I am not sure if you want to get traffic from ebay users or if you want to make a actual site like ebay but if you want to make a site like ebay make up a cool new name. You will be safe then for sure.
