I am planning to start paid directory submission. Thousands are directories are asking money for links. But what factors we need to consider to find good directory. Page Rank, Alexa Rank and etc. I found some directory having page rank 7, 8 and 9. But their alexa rank is not even less than 1lakh. They are not even having more links. I am so confused. How to find good paid directory?
When i submit to a paid directory the first think that i keep in mind is the Page Rank of the directory. The bigger the better, second factor would be the alexa rank, which denotes the number of visitors that the directory has. Conclusion if you found those kind of directories i suggest submitting to them, a PR 9 it is SOMETHING.
Well you asked a good question, i must say you should be wise enough about knowing the trust in SEO market and reliablty also as for submitting in paid dirs is concerned you must concentrate on pr as mentioned , alexa to me have no imp cox diretories are to make you stonger for you keywords not to give you traffic, if your paying mainly look for the age of directory , design and current links status, if all the three are +ve than it means the owner is ownest and ready to be honest with the directory till da end and this is the most important part coz if your paying then its your right to stay longer in a good surrounding, as for as pr is concerned it also necessary but i have seen many high pr directories which a pr of 6+ but looking after sm month you wont be able to see the pr even smtimes directoy too i wnt give examplea bcoz of confidental reasons soo select wise and best if your paying
Here are the few things, that I look for before getting listed on a paid directory... - Traffic penetration - Reputation - Cost of submission - PageRank
Age of directory, has it always been a directory, is it currently penalised, does it list dodgy sites, does it appear to be looked after, does it have a weird name, does it sell sitewide links.
As Dan and Pipes say - yeah domain age is very important - I also include few other features --- such as dept-ness, volume and frequency of crawling of the directory by Google. As most of you know - its not (Page Rank) PR that most experienced SEOs want from paid directories -- its link variety (one of many - lemme assure you that) - that they look for their clients. One should also browse some categories to check the listings before they decide on a directory. Its not the PR of the homepage or category pages............... that one should look for on a quality directory ------------ it should rather be -- Whether the directory has been a directory since registration ( many have been installing the script on old high PR domains - hence the net update -------------- sub categories of those type of directories also get PR! So - before deciding on a paid directory don't hesitate and spend some of your valuable time here (your $ have values too) www.archive.org
QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY!!! Also, PR of the directory, age of the directory and maybe online reputation. See if there are reviews around the net.
