    Hi,

As anchor link text is so important I must ask this question:

I am targetting "xml training", so naturally i would use <a href=".../">XML training</a>, but what if I use some formatting tags?

    E.g.

<a href="../"><strong>XML</strong> training</a>, will this be passed as "xml training" still?

    Thanks!

Formatting tags won't make ANY difference. You may use them for aesthetic reasons but they won't do anything for SEO.

I'm not formatting for SEO purposes, its just for page styling.

But you say the tags won't affect the outcome of the anchor text "xml training"?

As nohaber said, no formating will influence the anchor text.
