    Site: www.magxzine.com

    Topic: Extreme Sports Resource Site

    Established: March 2005

Google Page Rank: PR5 through the last 4 updates (The site also have several hundred pages with PR3 and PR4.

The site is listed in the Yahoo! Directory under Extreme Sports and has Wiki backlinks.

Content: The site has hundreds of pages of unique content. Google indexed 1,160 pages on the site. There is 165 articles and news stories: some were submitted by users (I only posted the quality ones), some were written by professional writers, some were written by me; There are 3 completely unique Myspace Layouts in use by at least several dozen profiles; there are also alot of downloads, a section on building your on ramps, some videos, and an arcade with extreme sports flash games. There is also a section with a lot of Athletes profiles. Almost all of the site's content is Unique!

CMS: The site is built around PHP-Nuke. There are a few custom modifications made by professional developers. There is a custom coded module and block for the athlete profiles, I also use it for the videos, and I started to work on upcoming TV Events using the module. The other main customization is in the directory. I had it modified so I could put static links for the Text Link Directory program.

Traffic: Gets a lot of SE traffic 350-1000+ per day depending on the current rank for various search terms. A popular term will sometime drop off google for a week then come back for a month, etc.

Revenue: I really have not done a whole lot to monetize the site. Make about $100+ per month selling links on the site, some are done through Paypal subscription, some are just one offs, some are just directory links through Text Link Brokers directory program(when I am really on top of it I can usually make $100/month on the Text Link Brokers program alone). I also included screen shot of adsense revenue from March to Dec of '06. (Averages about $225/month). I was playing with different ads, locations, and formats, I got the CTR up pretty good and made some decent income but the site really started looking cluttered so I backed it down. I have actually even been approached a few time by Vendors (or there Marketing Agencies) in the Extreme Sports industry to advertise on the site but I never really followed up on it.

    http://www.magxzine.com/mag_ad.jpg

Why I am selling: I don't really need the money but I lack the time to focus on the site. Basically my "real job", other projects, and family life leave me with too little time to focus on this site. The site needs a little regular new content with extreme sports news. It also could use the attention to monetize it better. The great domain name, traffic, etc. is currently going to waste and I really do not like seeing this. This site has the potential to be a Tier One site with the right owner. Unfortunately, right now, that is not me.

Bidding starts at $500 to get it going.

    BIN:$4000

Preferred Payment through Escrow.com. I will also accect a check or multiple Paypal payments (since paypal only protects up to $1000)

I reserve the right not to sell if I do not get to a price I am comfortable with.

    Hey,
So what's the revenue for January? How many link buyers will stay after the sale? How many articles do you write per month? How many articles are submitted by visitors? What about scoreguru.com ?
any paid advertizing? All links will stay after the sale?

Can i have referrers and se keywords?

Dazed:Here are the referral stats for Jan showing traffic source.
    http://www.magxzine.com/mag_ref.jpg

As for Jan adsense revenue: I tried a partnership with a content creator. I put his adsense id on the site for most of Dec and all of Jan in exchange for content. Well, I did not even hardly look at the site during this time frame then I realized no content was being added. So I reverted back to my adsense. With just the one ad I have at the top now CTR is pretty low $1-$2 per day. Last year when I was focusing on adsense last yr with blending through the site I had up to $400 months. I felt cluttered ad look was holding back the site from becoming a premium Tier One so I decided to get rid of most of the ads. I felt growing the site then going for more premium advertising was a better option than monetizing with Google.

I dug through my email and found one of the ones from a advertising agency who contacted me about advertising for their client. I can provide that to the new owner.

Much of the link buying is done throught the Text Link Broker program which you can continue if you wish. Those links get placed in the directory at $5 each. As for subscription link buyers staying I do not know. I have had a lot of revolving buyers. Two are solid (one for almost 18 months) that would probably stay after the sale. Scoreguru is just an advertiser who paid for a couple of months of banners. Their time is actually up.

I sometimes write a few articles a month, sometime pay someone to write a few, I also have some sources for good press releases I sometimes use. User contribution varies. There are usually a fair amount of advertorial type submissions that I do not approve. Sometimes I get as many as 8-10 legitimate submissions in a month.

No paid advertising has ever been used in the sites history.

You can do whatever you want with any links after the sale. I will consult with the new ower about which links are worthwhile to keep for link trades, revenue, etc.

Kevin: Adsense revenue screen shots are in the first post. I can probably get some screen shot of the Text Link Brokers payments. Other link customers all paid through paypal. I have so many paypal transactions (in and out) I cannot really try to get screenshot of those.

do you have a list of the SEO terms it ranks well for? Or do you have a list of the SEO terms people searched for when finding your site?

Kevin: Since there is so much unique content the SE terms people use to get to the site is huge. Plus it really depends on what is going on in Extreme Sports. During bid events alot of the terms are Athletes Names.

Since there are a few unique myspace layouts, myspace terms are also big. Here are some current SE rankings for those terms:

    Sports Myspace Layouts Yahoo 10
    Sports Myspace Layouts Google 6
    Sports Myspace Layouts MSN 13

    Snowboarding Myspace Layouts Google 6
    Snowboarding Myspace Layouts Yahoo 8
    Snowboarding Myspace Layouts MSN 50

    Motocross MySpace Layouts Yahoo 17+38
    Motocross MySpace Layouts MSN 11
    Motocross MySpace Layouts Google 7

    Extreme Myspace Layouts Google 5+6
    Extreme Myspace Layouts Yahoo 3+19
    Extreme Myspace Layouts MSN 1

The site frequently ranks in position #1 or #2 for these terms across all SEs.

Here is what Google webmasters tools says also for some various terms:

    extreme sport layouts 1
    snow skiing myspace layouts 1
"x games" layouts for myspace 1
    extreme sports layouts 1
    myspace extreme sports layouts 1
    "skate ramp plans" 54
    bmxing myspace layout 1
    extreme sport layout 1
    layouts extreme sports 1
    magxzine myspace layouts 2
    "danny kass" "myspace layout" 3
    "winter olympic" "myspace layout" 8
    lauren kreysar 10

I hope this helps answer your question.

All articles and materials are updated through the CMS. It is very easy just click "Add News" and type or paste what you want. Same with the profiles, you can easily add new sports or topics as well.

Received a bid of $1500. Also received a BIN offer of $4000 when I listed it on site point but it was from a new member with zero post.

Will let you know if the site sold.

Well, both BIN offers backed out. The first BIN offer I believe was someone trying to run a scam with a stolen paypal account. The second person could not come up with the money.

So the site is still up for sale with a $2000 high bid.
