Site banned while confirming ad placement

I just recently got a site banned because my ad placement was in violation of google's policies. However, I had emailed google a couple of days prior to review my site and the ads and was waiting for their response when I recieved the email banning the site. Do I have a fighting chance here or am I screwed? =(

There's nothing to be lost by making your case to .

Are you willing to share what it was about the placement that got your site banned?

That's a good question. For future reference, don't put the questionable ad unit up until you hear back. If I'm using a placement that's questionable...before I put it live...I send a screenshot to Adsense for their review.

In hindsight (being 20/20 and all) it was probably not very smart to put ads live on a site that you have questions about (I'm assuming you had questions about them or you wouldn't have emailed Google to ask). But wow, that's really bad luck there, chief. I don't know if you have any remedies, as you did break their TOS with the ad placement (I'm supposing). But anyways, you said you "got a site banned". So your account is okay?

You should of made a one public example page and sent them that URL instead of making the change site wide. Try E-mailing them. Since you let them know before, you can tell them that and you might have some hope.

... it was a topsite. I put the image ads the same size as the member banners and put them within the rankings. Thing is I didnt think it was that bad cause ive seen much worse in topsites and theyre all still kicking... my ads were up for a couple days!!!!!

... will be doing this in the future.

... yes my account is okay at least. What I dont understand is I have never had any problems with them before. I got no warning email at all and this happened so quick... a couple of days as stated.

I have emailed them pleading my case. Thanks for the replies.

Well, that's good news. Well, if it's just the site that is banned, you can always get it unbanned. If Adsense has banned you (does it still show up the Google Index?), then just write Adsense via the email Will listed above and explain your situation. Tell them you've "reformed" your site and they should let the site back in. I don't see why they would not unless it's the site ITSELF that they don't like, and not ad placement.

He meant the ad placement that you had when you got banned. I.e. can you recreate it on a photoshop or something to give them a hint of what it was you were trying to accomplish.

Probably the easiest way is to put the ad placement together on a page that isn't on the server (just on your local drive). Open the file in the web browser and take a screen shot. Much fast that all the copy and paste to do a fake one in photoshop.

i was thinking about starting a topsite too...

I wonder if it would be ok to place a 468X70 google text block within the rankings list ?

ive seen some sites get away with it... apparently mine did not. it seems to depend on who, from the adsense team, reviews your site...

    works for http://premiereproxy.com/

thats exactly how mine looked when it was banned

wow, that is surprising to me they made a big deal about that. You clearly indicate above the ad the title "sponsored links".

Perhaps google does not like the idea that their ads are being listed within the top100 ranking list making people think the ads are one of the top100, which they are not.
