I'm looking for feedback concerning ideas to improve the site, and also on how to attract more visitors.

I'd be grateful if you could also take a look at the forum and reply with similar feedback.

    Site to review: fusionnx.com
    Forum to review web.fusionnx.com

Thanks very much for your time!

To be honest: You have some content, but the site looks highly un-atractive and you have to click through a lot to get to certain sections, if I was you I would create a better design with one menu in which everything can be found. If you can't design I would think about find a designer, or if you want I have a layout here that I will sell for 20$ you can find it at http://v1.webdeveloperslog.nl

    Good luck with your site

I don't think that your message is particlarly helpful. It's not that I don't accept criticism, it's just that that you gave no reasons or justification for your comments. I asked for feedback and ideas- if you didn't have any then you were welcome not to post- but all you gave was
Considering that the most clicks required to get to a certain point of the site (not including the forum) is four (choosing a tutorial from one of the 'more tutorials lists'), I feel that your comment:
    was unjustified.

To add insult to injury, you then try to make me pay you for a design which I don't feel is at all right for the site. iskandar at least qualified his/her suggestion- your post was unnecessary and, to be honest, exploitative. You were simply trying to make money.

Other members, if i am being unfair do say. What I have written above is my interpretation of his post. If this is out of proportion, tell me- I am just pretty angry with eiso.

    No hard feelings, though, eiso.

I am sorry if I gave not enough justification , I just personally feel that the sites design has an impact to people: I would return to a good looking site not to one that is not, in my eyes.
I don't like the site design because I feel that the header image is not good looking and the over flow of white space is not my style.

Being 4 clicks away from everything I feel is to much, I would personally have one menu in which all can be found.

I am sorry if my personal opinion insulted you I should have given more info for my statements and I appologize for offering my design to you, it was my commercial self speaking.

Good luck with your site, I hope it becomes succesfull.

It wasn't your opinion- you're entitled to that- it was the lack of justification.
I entirely accept your apology, and appreciate the qualifications you just gave.

I constantly consider feedback, whether from the feedback pages, friends or other forums, and will amend the site if I see fit. I take your comments on board.

Eiso, for a lot of sites, you cannot possibly index *everything* from the main page.. I'm assuming your websites are not overflowing with tons of organized content or any dynamic pages..

Robo; To be perfectly honest the logo looks more like a crayon than anything. In the tutorial section, the DHTML menu selection is a nice feature, but the colors of the buttons do not contrast well with the logo color.

I also think that you shouldn't create new windows for each tutorial, perhaps you should use a PHP templating system to show the tutorial on the right pane and keep the DHTML buttons there for navigation on the left -- that would simplify navigation quite a bit.

The forums button should go directly to the forums, while keeping the logo and navigation bar up top, and again - opening new windows should be kept to a minimum IMO.

Also in the PHP tutorial, perhaps you should provide an index of topics covered with anchors to locate the topic people want, considering the tutorial is quite large.

    Just my two cents!

I totally understand but maybe a menu like you see on : http://www.washingtonpost.com can reduce the amount of click throughs to get to a section, just an idea.

Reducing click throughs should be balanced with wanting a user to click through the site quite a few times to raise impression count, and keep em interested, more potential for a clickthrough IMO.

daed- Thanks for the extensive feedback- I'm looking into your suggestions

markkk- I used paintshop to compress images, I probably got a little bit over-enthusiastic about catering for dial-uppers.

Given that most criticism was given of the images, I'm probably gonna re-design the logo/home page buttons pretty soon.

Thanks for all the advice- more is still welcome!
