Selling PR 4 arcade with traffic and revenue....

    Hi everyone.

I've decided to auction off my arcade site. This was my first site and really was a great learning experience for me, but it's time to move on to other projects. So, why am I selling? I just don't have the time or motivation to continue running an arcade.

Site contains over 1,000 media files. I hand picked the first 300 or so, then got lazy and bought gamepacks and moviepacks. So there could be duplicate media files in there. I didn't take the time to search through them all.

Site currently runs phpAS v. 2.0 and the template is from boxedart.com. It was integrated by myself. Site has been online just about a year now.

I should also state that I was paying for a couple links on other sites but cancelled the subscriptions today. I was trying to build lots of backlinks while bringing in a little traffic. The traffic the links brought was very minimal, so by cancelling the subscriptions, you shouldn't lose a lot of traffic. Probably 30-40 visits/day. It still means 5,000+ uniques/mo.

    URL: Please see sig
Revenue: OK, this is tricky. Runs YPN and makes anywhere between $60-$120/mo. Could make much more than that too if you can bring in more traffic. It made $120 in December, but only $60 this January. It's all a matter of promotion and link dropping (I used high traffic humor forums to subtly drop links). It made $60 this past month with me doing NOTHING at all. So I guess you could take an average of $90/mo. That's what I'm going to use to govern my BIN price.

Also, an arcade pays $10/mo. paypal subscription for sitewide link.

    Starting Bid: $50
    Bid Increments:$10
    Reserve:$400
    BIN:$900
Auction End:Sunday night (Feb. 4th) around 8pm EST. I reserve the right to extend, shorten or cancel this auction for any reason.

I almost forgot, payment via Paypal. Once payment makes it into real bank account, I will transfer everything. I must do this in case of chargebacks. It's just like waiting for a check to clear. I'm legit and will not screw anyone over. Check my iTrader. I expect the same from any member here.

Any other information or whatever, please feel free to ask. Let's start the bidding!

    Reserve:$400

What do u mean by that? Does it mean you won't sell the site if it doesn't go above $400?

Yes. Now I know that poses the question, "why not just make $400 the minimum starting bid?" To be honest, I never understood it either, but if I make the minimum $400, then the auction probably won't ever get a starting bid.

That doesn't mean don't bid. I may be willing to rethink what I'm willing to accept depending on how the auction goes. The site is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. It also allows me to back out if my highest bid is only $150. I'll make that in two months with the site and would never let it go for that. I also feel that $400 is very reasonable for this site. Any other questions feel free to ask.

    Thanks,
    boxer126

    Few Questions,
The flash header, does it come with the source code so that it can be altered.

Is the site suspended from google? Im not thinking it is, but non americans cant use yahoo yet.

Can you disclose the name of the bidder so that we know its legit, not making any accusations, but some users have been milking by saying they got pm bids.

The script wont have any copyright problems? All files hosted on your own server?

Unfortunately, Awstats for some reason, doesn't let me go back any further than the current month. So, I guess you can't. I might be able to dig up the addfreestats for you a little later this afternoon.

It comes with a text file that can alter all the text contained within the header. As far as editing the graphics, not that I know of. I can check for an .flv file, but I think it's only .swf.

I just got another bid of $500 via PM from FarmerOak.

Script will be transferred to new owner. phpAS requires 30 days of ownership before transfer. The site is just about 1 year old. All files currently hosted on shared server at dreamhost.com.

Site is not banned from adsense nor do I believe it violates TOS. I had adsense on there for about a week to see how it'd do, but switched back because YPN pays a lot more.

Hope that answers all questions. Feel free to ask more. Current high bid is $500 via PM from FarmerOak. Auction ends tonight. I may have to end a little earlier than 8pm due to the Super Bowl!

    Thanks,
    boxer126

Current bid $510. Any future bids, please post as reply to thread instead of PM.

    Thanks,
    boxer126

    Auction closed with private bid.

    Thanks everyone.

Sorry, no offense, but you should read the WHOLE thread before saying anything. I reserved the right to end early and I did with a nice bid and a trusted bidder I've done business with before. Sorry you missed out. Auction ends when I say it ends. It's not bad business since I stated from the beginning that I could end it anytime. Offer me more than $750 and it's yours.
