PR of http://www.esrilankans.net/ is 3. and PR of http://esrilankans.net/ (without www) is 0. both domains are pointing to same index.php file. i think this an error in google.
Most of your links come with the www. If you check google, you may see that the link: query throws up no result for your site without the www. Google sees both as different, and you should 301 either one of the two to the other, and ensure that all your links come with either www or without it. That isn't an error in google.
I do agree with gr8liverpoolfan. Google considers both as different. You can redirect non www to your www sites. It will help you ultimately.
Sub domains are 100% different. They could be pointed to two complete different niche websites. On my blog I recently had a PR4 or www. and a PR3 of no www. This was odd because EVERY back link I have ever had, had no www. I added in code to my httpd config file to redirect all non www to www. and a week later both were PR4.
even if the pages are returned exactly the same, letter for letter, www and non www are given different PR values. Please look up www-non-www Pierce
I don't know why but the are all seen as different seo-rant.com seo-rant.com/index.php www.seo-rant.com www.seo-rant.com/index.php these 4 are all seen as different and if you have links pointing to them they are all given different link popularities. be careful on your own site and make sure your links back to home go to www.seo-rant.com instead of www.seo-rant.com.index.php I used my blog url as the example
the domain with www and non www are both different in eyes of google.. n the solution in your case would be a redirect from non www to www version of your domain.. and be consistent in using either www in ur links throughout ur site
the worst thing that will happen sooner or later will be that you will be penalyzed for duplicated contend. so better hurry up and 1.redirect 301 all non www.site to www.site 2.change all links to point to the directories and not to exact file.
that means people are giving link to you with www . there is an option in webmaster tool about this . if you want , you can set www in all google search with using google webmaster tools
trichnosis is correct nvidura. Have you submitted a sitemap to Google? This happened to me when I submitted a sitemap. You need to go Webmaster Tools, and you will find the 'Preferred domain' option in the 'Diagnostic' left-side menu. It will take about 3 or 4 months for Google to re-index them back to www.
Yep same here - I agree with gr8liverpoolfan. I have the same issue sometimes with the www and with the non-www
Can anyone point out a website that has a different page residing on http://domain.com vs http://www.domain.com ? - because i'm having difficulty remembering if i've ever seen this.
