Hi all, The age of a domain is a very important factor in the Google Algo as we all know, but what if the domain has been parked for say 10 years then i decide to put a site on it. Does Google give any domain that is old a default value? Obviously a domain that is 10 years old and been indexed on a regular basis is going to do better than a 10 year old domain that has had no site on it, but would it do any better than a new domain?
If it had a good pr even while parked, it can still be powerful, but it will be out of the sandbox which is good.
I agree, if the parked site has been indexed by the search engines while it was parked then the site will still have alot of weight. And although domain age does play a factor you will still need some good links in order to climb the search engines, but you may not need as many as the others.
I posted about domain age recently, specifically about things that must be present along with it for it to carry a lot of weight.
Good points! Obviously google can know these but the main point is how much of this information integrated to their system and how advantageous to have an old but parked domain.
