Look at it this way Facebook is making millions from Facebook Advertisements,Now where do Facebook AD's appear =>yes ON FACEBOOK ONLY !!..so Facebook DOES NOT NEED TO PAY ANYONE to show Ads for Its ADVERTISERS unlike GOOGLE (becos google dosent have A WEBSITE OF THEIR OWN) Google HAS TO PAY SOMEONE(the adsense publisher) to SHOW AD's For It's ADVERTISERS (adword advertisers)...BUT IF VIEWED FROM ANOTHER ANGLE,,GOOGLE dosent have ITS OWN WEBSITE so IT'S AD's are shown on OTHER BILLIONS OF WEBSITES which gives them the EDGE over FACEBOOK reason=>A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER does NOT have to Visit one particular website(FACEBOOK) before he/she can see your advert Whereas EVERY OTHER WEBSITE that THAT SAME VISITOR VISITS WILL SHOW GOOGLE AD'S(adsense) SO EVERY POTENTIAL CUSTOMER HAS 80% more chance of seeing your advert repeatedly OVER and OVER again as he/she keeps surfin the web AND OFFCOURSE YOU HAVE A HUGH CHANCE OF THE CUSTOMER CLICKING & FOLLOWING YOUR AD...NOW YOUR ASKING YOURSELF " WHAT DOES THIS ALL THIS HAVE TO DO WITH GOOGLE+ and ALSO MAYBE AFFECTING GOOGLE ADWORDS ON THE LONG RUN??? ANSWER ==> WHEN AND IF GOOGLE FINALLY LAUNCHES GOOGLE+ SOCIAL NETWORK AFTER ABOUT A YEAR OR TWO OF GLOBAL ACCEPTANCE JUST LIKE FACEBOOK TODAY,,GOOGLE MIGHT REDUCE HOW MUCH THEY CHARGE ADWORDS ADVERTISERS AND ALSO PROBABLY REDUCE HOW MUCH THEY PAY ADSENSE PUBLISHERS TOO..WHY?? -> BECOS THEY NOW HAVE THEIR OWN WEBSITE (GOOGLE+) so they can now show their own ad's (ADWORDS) and WONT REALLY NO LONGER NEED TO PAY ADSENSE PUBLISHERS TOO MUCH MONEY TO SHOW THEIR AD's ANYLONGER so it might me good news for advertisers and a pay cut for publishers...Who knows what'll happen next..i have a Strong feeling Facebook WILL DEFINITELY FEEL GOOGLES THREAT AND WILL LIKELY LAUNCH THEIR VERY OWN ADVERTISING NETWORK so that their can extented the reach of their facebook Ads and give facebook advertisers a LARGER AUDIENCE...AND THEN ANOTHER BATTLE ENSURES--GOOGLE AND FACEBOOK WILL BATTLE FOR WEB PUBLISHERS CHOICE OF AD TO DISPLAY ON THEIR WEBSITES..AND THEN COMPETITIVE PRICES will come in,, which might favour the publishers..Well AM NOT NOSTRADAMUS SO THATS ALL AMMA SAY FOR NOW..Lets Hear your views ..what do you guys think
Google doesn't have a web site of their own??? Who owns google.com then? >> Google might reduce how much they charge advertisers. You don't understand how Adwords works. It's not Google that decides how much to charge. It's the advertisers. It's a supply and demand type of system. I don't understand your logic in any way. Google doesn't mind paying publishers a share of the ad revenues. Heck, it represents a huge chunk of their revenue. Why would they give it up? As for Facebook launching their own advertising network, who knows? They should have the money to do it. They may have the technology. But do they have the will? Would it work? There are so many other ad networkds out there, there is no need for another. It is risky for them. The advantage is brand name recognition. But why would they? Google is really not a threat. They are in different businesses. Google in search mainly and their ad network, Facebook is a social site. I just don't see Facebook diving into extending their ad network beyond their own site. Now even if they do, I don't see the landscape changing. It won't bring more competitive prices as you put it. As I said, it's a system of supply and demand. And how would that favour publishers exactly if advertisers pay less?
...Offourse i know google own google.com what i was trying to imply is that google.com its just a Search Engine NOT a website like as in a HUGE SOCIAL WEBSITE...the only time we go to google is when we wnat to search excluding their other services websites like google anayltics, feedburner, gmail etc....The google services an average normal internet user uses are either google search engine and gmail, then maybe picasa & definitely you-tube...only webmasters use all the other google websites like feedburner, analytics, webmaster tools and the rest of them.... yes i perfectly understand what you said and i understand the demand and supply thing but a service can still be expensive or not even though how much you are eventually charged depends on your how much audience, keywords, geotargeting etc you eventually choose for your campaign.... ..concerning facebook possible growing their Ad network i think only timw will tell....but keep in mind facebook have the money to embark on it if they want to EVEN if its gonna be on a small scale..Mike zukerberg has shown us to be the competitive type,,i read a post on yahoo news once that he is also currently using the Google plus social network and he was having the HIGHEST number of Followers on Google plus even more than the google brothers at that time...so whether Facebook will compete..lets watch and see
