I'm not even sure if this can be done, maybe I'm confusing it with yahoo.. if I want to search for backlinks from a site, but I don't want backlinks from certain domains to show, what would the syntax be for that?
I don't think it's possible to use negative (or any for that matter) operators with the link: command.
Hi disgust, I agree with Shawn: you can't add anything to the link: command on Google (same thing for related:URL). All you can do is filtering the results given by the link: command. If you want to know how I can remove same-domain or same-sub-domain backlinks for hundreds of backlinks in 1 minute, send me a PM ;-) Best, PR Weaver
I agree that you cannot add operators to the link: command, but then the link: command is such a poor weak thing that only shows a random sample of who links to you why use it at all? See if the results you get when searching this way are useful to you: @mydomain.com -site:mydomain.com
I was going nuts with hundreds of forum posts popping up as backlinks. I couldn't seem to be able to find a way to check what other backlinks I have at Google. After trying out all kind of things, I found this filter: at the Google address bar, type "www.yourdomain.com" -site:www.outdomain.com I found loads of backlinks for mysite, and all that came from www.outdomain.com weren't showing!! You can even do this to exclude several sites, for example "www.yourdomain.com" -site:www.outdomain.com -siteutdomain2.com ... etc It still doesn't show all your backlinks, but is sure does filter the ones you don't want to see!! Could you try it out and let me know if it works for you?
