I have a client who wants a logo for a new business. It is a SEMINAR business where groups of people learn techniques for making their life happier. The business is called Tools of Joy. We are looking for a logo that has a graphic that includes the name in text. TOTAL PRIZE $40 US paid by Paypal Contest Ends: Wednesday 20 July 2011 at midnight PST Entries: Do NOT PM me your entries – Please post ALL entries in this thread. SPECS size: the logo has to be visually understandable in both small and large sizes. The smallest the logo would appear would be on letterhead, 120 pixels wide. At that small size, fine details in the logo will not be visible, so the logo should not include such details. We also need a hi-res version for posters of 3 feet wide. format: gif, PSD and jpg animation: none-permitted. THE CONCEPT We want the graphic to look like it is HAND-DRAWN. The graphic should include some or all of these visual elements: a) a symbol of happiness, such as a smile b) a symbol of a group of people c) a symbol of a tool. I am no designer but to get ideas started I have come up with designs that have some or all of these elements. For the text of the name I used the font Jokeman. Even though it has some fine detail, when the logo is reduced to 120 pixels, these are still visible. You can see a page of these very rough design concepts here: http://budgetit.ca/tools-joy-draft-design-concepts?size=_original Feel free to work with those concepts or invent one entirely of your own. Except for the text part, the design needs to look like it is HAND-DRAWN. In my examples, I have used images of tool boxes, but these would have to be hand drawn in the final example. Thanks in advance! John
all colors used are colors that represent happiness and joy. also, the wrench is shaped upwards which symbolizes the shape of a smile.
The logo needs to look in a very small size. Most of the submissions have too much detail. My favorite so far are variants of Maestria's, which I have changed slightly. In the first I have kept the case but the tools are gone to keep the design simple. http://budgetit.ca/meastria-case?size=_original I think I like even more simple, removing the case altogether. Like this: http://budgetit.ca/maestrianocase?size=_original I thought the smile was a bit high, so I dropped it to the center of the lower line of text. Not sure if that is better: http://budgetit.ca/maestriasmilelower Masetria: do you like the smile lower or higher? Anyone else care to comment on that. Maestria can you change the yellow background to white? And then try a couple other versions with a white background but a little more color in the text? THANKS! Everyone else is welcome to make submissions. Thanks!
The contest is over. Congratulations to Maestria who won it. Thanks to all for your participation. John
