http://virtualearth.msn.com/ appears to be a worthy competitor to http://maps.google.com/ - fun stuff to play with!
I have to say, apart from some features that I don't think are much more than gimmicks MSN doesn't have anything on Google Maps let alone Google Earth..
Its a bit more out of date that google earth is. It seems about 2-3 years behind. Maybe more (in my area at least).
Nothing will. What a bunch of arse! I wouldn't DARE let my company release something like that when my main competitor had something as good as Google Earth. Christ..have they no pride ? Pete
It's so embarrising to see them copy every move Google makes... I don't even work there and I'm embarresed... Imagine how they feel.... What a shame....
Download Google Earth, goto the rocky mountains in canada, click on the terrain button to make sure it has a check mark by it. Now change the tilt and angle of your view. Rotate all you want. 3d MOUNTAINS! (Sorry for the all caps). You can actaully see the mountains in 3D. Buildings in Major cities are like this too, but with no texture on them. Google Earth is way faster, cooler, but I like the MSN road maps better actually. I'd probably use the MSN version for trips, and the Google one for fun and showing friends. You can see a satelite image a lot LOT closer on Google Earth as well. Brian
Too bad it's US only... both of them. I guess europe and other parts of the world will be available sometime in the future.
Some of you have probably already seen this, but for those of you who haven't, this article on MSN earth is pretty funny... http://www.theregister.co.uk/2005/07/25/msn_earth_deletes_aple/
