What's the deal with getting an infraction for welcoming somebody to the forum??? I got this one "Running Up Post Count/Post Has No Value" for welcoming someone onboard! Should we just not bother posting in "introductions" at all otherwise we get an infraction! How do you know who has actually given the infraction?

How many Noobs did you welcome? You should, as much as possible, minimize welcoming new members. Like 100 posts : 1 welcome only. And never open a thread saying that you got an infraction. It will cause you more trouble.

Welcoming somebody to the forum is not bad and we must bother to Welcome someone. At the same time we must keep the Percentage of Welcoming at reasonable rate. Out of your 103 posts, 20% are Welcoming posts.:D Copy and paste type of welcome messages are treated as "Running Up Post Count/Post Has No Value". Do not worry about Infractions. They come on go. Members contribution to the forum is permanent not infractions. Infraction awarded by moderators not by members hence there is no need of worrying much. You can't find out by name who awarded infraction.:)

you have to be careful with what you say, do not just say hello there, or something like that. Make a response that is meaningful and unique then you should be ok. ;)

I just got an infraction as well. Is there some sort of thread that explains why infractions are given?

90% of your posts are in the Introductions forum.

If we took away your signature, would you still be welcoming people?

We have a problem with people running up their post counts just to build links.

    LOL :D Thats true.

But here's a question, what does it mean when you get an infraction and the Post field is set to Private?

That would explain it. Though I can't remember making any meaningless post .... I still don't understand why people whine about it so much, it's only an infraction.
