Do follow links exchange - no harm for Google ranking?

Let's imagine 2 pages in some site, for example urls ends with page1.html and page2.html.

Idea: You can optimize page1 to get top position in Google but from page2 it is safe to give backlinks with do follow to other sites.

Statement: This wont damage rankings for page1 (which is lead page).

I talked about this with the top SEO specialist in my country. He said this is safe. And even it is recommended to do that - Google likes when you refer to good content related to your niche.

Is this realy working? Do you practice that?

Can this be used to exchange with backlinks between 2 sites?

Yes link exchanges can be good if you exchange links with related and high quality sites. It will surely benefit you but make sure that you limit those exchanges to a certain number don't overdo it and make whole directory of it. But otherwise its fine.

It does not hurt as long as you don't link to low quality sites and if the site is not linking back to you

so, it is not good to exchange with backlinks between 2 sites at all? Or you mean not exchange with low quality sites only?

You should exchange links with quality sites that are sharing the same theme or ones related to your service/product..like your dealers and vendors. You should check your link partner, whether it has quality & unique content or is it a directory of backlinks with very few content.Check their neighbors.

you should set yourself a limit and rules on exchanging links. You can consider sites that are relevant to yours and is quality enough to link with.

Hey, thank you all for advises!

I started to linking out 2 days ago (with do follow). I included in my blog 1 link to Microsoft MSDN site and after 1 day my lead page get from 5. page to 3. page on Google.com search results. In my country (Google.lv) my page gets from #16 to #2 position in search results. Recently I checked again - positions are the same.

At this point seems out linking strategy works. I will inform you about my experiment here after 1 week.

    Be optimistic with your point!!

You can give link to authority websites.

For example: If you have any chiropractic website and you found word "Cancer" in your content. You can linked it to wikipedia page, it will help you for sure - Sounds good?

Here is my report: no harm for rankings. My page is still on higher position than before out linking. So it is safe - you should use it.
