PR were updated majorly. I see quite some PR8 directories and this one www.webleach.com got PR9.... Giant Yahoo only has a PR9! any insight?
There is nothing more or less than that this site is linked by http://www.leru.org/index.php/public/home/ a pr10 .
Yeah it's just a 1 pixel white blank image (img alt) link this. Very fishy. Huge knock-on effects from that link been placed. The sites that directory is linking out to will of gained a rather nice boost. Wouldn't surprise me if this gets outed (already is if we're talking about it here ) and then Google slap it manually anyway. Those PR9 links don't look too bad for $39.95 do they
@xc06 --- lol buddy - you saw only that???????????? What about 3 PR8 directories? www.medranks.com www.dirbull.com www.cuedirectory.com Also couple of PR7 directories???????? ---------- www.directorywide.com www.forgot then name Just have a look -- all those directories almost have similar design--lay-out. Very very abnormal high PR -- so it won't be wrong to conclude that they are owned by same person - company who can GAME Google's P....... Rank very easily!!!!!!!!!!!!! This PR update has sickened me to the level that - I'm contemplating to leave the industry----where hard work does not pay a dime. But thats the challenge -- I'm not to concede to sub-standard - high PR directories and will always look to commit myself to develop quality resources.
when searchin for the domain google brings only 1 result from the site but the site also has high pr in the inner pages strange!!!
@ Mods Thought of editing the earlier post - but my point would have been lost if I did it. It is for this kind of things that webmasters do -- for which the whole industry get a bad name. @ Google -- pls make all directories on several directorys' lists PR N/A manually-- and we will see who survives!!!
Yahoo and google are competitors. Google knows that yahoo deserves a 10 but Google wants to seem better then Yahoo.
http://www.akkreditierungsrat.de/ PR8 footer <a href="http://www.dirbull.com/"><img src="/clear.gif" hspace="0" vspace="0" border="0" alt="Business web directory" /></a><a href="http://www.directorywide.com/"><img src="/clear.gif" hspace="0" vspace="0" border="0" alt="Directory Wide" /></a> Code (markup): 1px images, probably they paid the webmasters of some high PR sites (or they are those webmasters) to add those invisible links. If you report in Google webmasters their PR will be gone in 1 week top
I'll second that Our 10 years old AMRAY Directory after G. penalized it 4 years ago has the same PR 4 even though this is spam free and best maintained directory with 60% of visitors, (according to Analytics) who are coming via referrers and 38% direct, so for us PR 0 or 4 doesn't make any difference any how and if G. srtips PR, I know we will have stream of visitors no matter what. fastreplies
Shows you how brilliant the engineers at google are when they allow an image alt tag link for a blank image to pass PR. http://www.leru.org/themes/solspace_themes/jquery/colorpicker/images/blank.gif Meanwhile those of us with legitimate directories are shit upon.. Such is life.
That would be a record for phpLD sites at 9. I had seen 8 before. At this point, there have been so many cases of this, I don't even worry about it anymore. If google felt it was important to stop this, they could easily do it. They obviously have not set a very high priority to locating sites like this.
They have doubled the submissions prices do we missed the opportunity or let me ask this way was it an opportunity (buying a link from a site like this at 40$) ?
That's pretty funny. What wonders a PR10 has. Anyone know if webleach has actually rose much in SERP rankings?
just to update, the PR10 backlink http://www.leru.org/index.php/public/home has removed webleach.com source code from their website. It again shows an evidence of possible hacking...
