Almost every web design company and web designers need to search for images or photographs on internet to use in their design. They look for FREE photos i.e without charge, for them to use however they want. Here is the list of websites that should be, for the majority, completely free photos. There should be absolutely no Rights-Managed (â€licensed imagesâ€) in the list below. Rights-Managed images require you to pay for every time you use it or reproduce it. I have found this list on net. If you can suggest more then please do it. StockVault (has free web templates too) http://www.stockvault.net Stock.xchng http://www.sxc.hu EveryStockPhoto http://www.everystockphoto.com Yotophoto http://yotophoto.com Jupiterimages http://www.jupiterimages.com FreePhotosBank http://www.freephotosbank.com Free Stock Photography http://www.adigitaldreamer.com/gallery **** **** ********************** [Edit: This is removed, as this site do not provide free image] ImageSource (free un-watermarked images after signup) http://www.imagesource.com Morgue File http://www.morguefile.com/archive Image*After http://www.imageafter.com OpenPhoto http://www.openphoto.net BigFoto http://www.bigfoto.com USDA http://www.usda.gov/oc/photo/opclibra.htm FontPlay Free Photos http://www.fontplay.com/freephotos Pixel Perfect Digital http://www.pixelperfectdigital.com/free_image_archive FreeMediaGOO http://www.freemediagoo.com About Pixel (German) http://www.aboutpixel.de Woophy http://www.woophy.com/map/index.php DesignPacks http://www.designpacks.com/Image_Catalog Fotalia http://www.fotolia.co.uk/free_photos PixelQuelle (German) http://www.pixelquelle.de See the complete list at List of FREE Photo / Images Websites Enjoy using the list. Aha Great. I am a webdesigner and programmer myself was looking for images and searching everywhere. Thank you very much for providing those links.
I have some on my site, I add a few every week or so. They can be used for whatever reason. www.barrelofcrafts.com
I would strongly advise anyone who considers this list authorative to be very very careful! I picked 3 sites at random and looked at their Terms of service! only 1 of the 3 indicated that the images on their site were royalty free, and that one said for non-commercial use. So don't put paid ads on your site if you have images from somewhere like that or you are operating against the licence conditions. Come on folks - really there is not very many royalty free $0 stock photos out there, and all of the good ones would have already been used 100's if not 1,000's of times before. Get at least a little smart and check out some of the microstock sites where you pay between $1 and $5 per image for use on a website and as long as you follow their TOS you are safe. Better still, take your own photos for use on your site and then you know 100% that you can do whatever you want with the pictures. Search this site re getty - they do go after people who think that they are a free library and when they do it is usually for $xx,xxx amounts!
http://www.gettyimages.com You need to pay them to use their awesome images. Great image provider on any subjects. Not free to use.
Thanks, I have edited the link. IF you guys know more such sites, then please suggest here. Also, some idiot has given me red repo for posting this list. I thought I should share this info with you guys, but it is proving dangerous to me.
WooooooW... It is really worth to see the post for free images. I've downloaded some pictures for my dog site. Thanks for info...
Here are few more clipart / free images site: http://www.aaa-banners.com http://www.aaa-backgrounds.com http://www.aaa-buttons.com http://www.stuff.uk.com/fonts http://www.clipart.co.uk http://www.neoncity.co.uk Thanks
I like to use the Adobe Stock Photo archive that comes with the Creative Suite. Its free...but you have to have CS...so its not actually 'free'. But it has lots of images that I have found useful. Just my opinion.
Let me just mention Freefoto.com They have a huge gallery of free photos which can be used for free of charge on non-commercial sites. They've got some really good stuff - especially pictures of the great outdoors.
I didn't know Juperimages has free photos. I thought they licensed their stuff. Just to add to this discussion, I am just getting my site up and running with high-end photos being offered in some advanced formats. Formats which don't matter so much for the web, but in print and high end multimedia they matter. So, if anyone sees something they want I would be willing to exchange an image (Image will be considered RM) for a decent PR link or something, PM me.
I donot think that we can use these images commercially. Can we use these images and design templates for our clients ?? I donot think this will be acceptable to most of the sites based on their terms and conditions.
This may be a repost, but you can't beat; http://www.bluevertigo.com.ar/bluevertigo.htm Huge index of design and multimedia resources
